Lefty here with machines, I machine my RH chassis and stocks to accept left hand bolt and widen the RH saftey lever area .020 for the RH Timney and Jard,so as to clear bolt stop.Not hard.
PDC customs will make a CZ457 ambi able to run RH safety past bolt stop.He had two to make that way when I talked to him.
Mine's in a Grey Birch LH chassis, balances well without a ton of weight added up front. MPA makes a great chassis, just wondering why they did it in the Vanquish and not something with a lighter buttstock...not everybody wants to run a 24x1.25 barrel just to help weight balance their rig

Kinda expensive compared to other chassis options, even from MPA. It's even way more expensive than Manners stock. Wonder why that is?
One of my buddies recently installed the L3i barrel on CZ457. He has the Manners stock and had open up the barrel channel a bit to accommodate the new barrel.

And I’m going to ask this on every new chassis for the 457 that is coming out.. will the vblock area just forward of the front action screw allow for a 1.25” barrel to seat without touching anything? Let’s jog people’s memory with the attached picture.
Spoke too soon in my earlier post, questioned the Vanquish as the right chassis for a rimfire gun. Apparently MPA added 6oz to the forend while removing 1lb from the buttstock compared to the center fire version. That and the new mag release are big upgrades. The barrel channel is stated to be 1.350in inlet, hopefully that includes inletting directly forward of the front action screw. Looks like they did their homework on this project. And in a LH inlet also...don't know that I'll jump out of my Grey Birch right away, but I'm certainly going to follow the feedback once the first one's are seen in the wild.
Grey Birch said the same but didn’t account for the area a cunt’s hair away from the front action screw. They just thought about the forend and not the vblock.
Unofficially there is a small batch of lefty that will hit the site in about a week and half. These if ordered when they hit the site would ship in Feb.
Took my CZ457 MTR that's been rebarreled with a Pete's Pillars barrel to the range today for 100 yards zero. While I was there I tested an EC Tuner V2. Only shot 25 rounds of Eley Semi Auto Bench Rest ammo. Last 5 of 25 shots playing with the tuner at 100 yards. The tuner came home with me.
I think the new chassis from L3I is a scam. First, he has all this cool shit for our rifles, bottom metal, barrels that won’t fit our channels, etc, so we go buy all that stuff. Then after we have fully kitted out our rifles, he comes out with a chassis that has all that good stuff built in. I think it was his plan all along! Well, I for one, am not falling for it! But, I will ask for a friend, when will they be available, and what is the price?

I emailed MPA a question about the lefty version, and the response I received was that they do not offer a lefty version. The website lets you select left handed, so ???? WTF.
The MPA website has been “fixed” and no longer lists a lefty option. Will L3i be my savior? We’ll see next week I guess.
Kinda agree with you but in all fairness it's not just L3i. It's marketing strategy amongst the industry. Take MDT and the new ACC gen2. They touted it as highly improved for less money, yet it's just a stripped down gen1. An adjustable mag latch is as necessary as ammo these days, yet they left it off and you need to pay to upgrade it. They have everyone, well almost everyone...not you or I apparently, convinced that you have to have 3 or 4 $K into a rimfire build, twice that if you compete in centerfire, before optic, which is another shit show... or you can't be competitive or you're "not in the loop". Don't get me wrong it's great to see the industry grow, and in the end it's the individual end user who decides to part with their hard earned money or not, so I don't see the trend changing anytime soon. The L3i is a beautiful full featured chassis,but with weight kits and other add on's it can run you near 2K just like an ACC Premier. Don't see my accuracy improving any by "upgrading" my $500 chassis setup, others might feel differently and drop the coin...$1500 buys me a lot of quality ammo, if I can ever find any of that again !I think the new chassis from L3I is a scam. I don't think it's a conspiracy, just the way things up all. The other eye chassis is meant to compete with the ACC elite or any other top tier chassis. You're right that is definitely not an entry level set up and honestly there are lots of people who won't see the benefits. That being said, there's probably just as many people who see the benefit of getting a ton of features and pushing their gear to the limits.
I think you missed my sarcasm. It was a joke. Everything I have received from L3I has helped my rifle shoot better. I just wish that chassis was out sooner and I wouldn't have spent on the Manners.
Not knocking your products at all Leon, I use many of them and like them all. But I disagree about the percentages of people who could see a marked improvement, seen too many matches where the 2K CZ outgunned the 7K Vudoo. Betting if I handed my rig to a top 10 prs shooter he'd still finish top 10 in the match.
FYI this is Jeremiah, the other L3I guy lol. They absolutely would still win but I love being able to suit my rifle specifically for me and my shooting style.

So now I'm figuring that if I get your chassis, and do some parts swapping, all I will need is an action and timney, and I will have two rifles. That will be good for my wife or friend to use in matches.

For example, if you buy the 457 Manners MTR, you get the MTR barrel. If you buy the "Pro Varmint" you get the standard chamber, but the Varmint MTR gets the MTR chamber. The third MTR is the MDT Chassis model.
All of the rest are the standard chamber.

I keep looking for the update on the website, but I am not seeing the Hyve for the CZ457. On the side panels, are the m-loks standard, and then able to purchase the weighted or QR rails separately?
I started buying 457s not long after they were announced, first getting an American sporter, then finally finding a Varmint MTR after missing getting one ordered when they were in stock several times. Then - because I'm a fan of the Manners PRS1T stocks that I have on several of my Vudoo & a single Rim-X rifles - I bought a Varmint Precision Trainer with the 24" threaded bbl. The American shot poorly to begin with, using SK & Lapua ammo that shot great in the custom barrels on two Jelrod-converted CMP 40X actions, but the best the American ever managed at 50yds was around 1-1/2" groups, even after I'd pulled the bbl and cut a precision 11* crown to replace the ragged factory crown. Finally replaced that factory bbl with a Shilen select match ratchet that I chambered with my EPS reamer, and now have a rifle that shoots really well. The Varmint MTR was a huge improvement over the American's factory bbl, but still wasn't as consistently accurate as any of the rifles I had with custom barrels. The VPT came - new, out of the box - with some spattered but fairly heavy lead fouling about 1-1/2" forward of the chamber that I found while trying to wipe the bore before zeroing the scope I'd mounted. Just kept getting dirty patches out of the bbl with Ed's Red, so finally dry-patched it and put the Hawkeye borescope in to see what the problem was, and could easily see that leading - in a brand new bbl that I hadn't shot yet. A fresh bronze bore brush removed all the leading fairly quickly, and the bbl never lead fouled in that area again, and shot OK from the beginning, though not as good as the MTR. After I'd put 500 or more rounds through it at 50yds, I felt the groups had improved a bit, so backed off to shoot it at 100 & 200yds. But it really kinda fell on its face, producing 3"+ groups at 100, and failing to keep 10rds on an 8" gong at 200. So that rifle got the same Shilen bbl treatment as the American, and is now one of my favorite 22RF rifles.
Since I now had two very accurate & consistent 457s that both shot better than the Varmint MTR, I put it up for sale and kept the other two. I probably wouldn't have put the time, effort, and money into those two if I hadn't been so happy with the 457 actions, and have no regrets after doing so. From all the positive reviews I've read on 457 accuracy here & over on RFC, I must conclude that I was just unlucky with those two sub-par factory bbls, but it does point out that accuracy with standard CZ bbls is more-or-less a crap shoot (no pun intended).
Why doesn’t CZ supply an option for the CZ 457 varmint MTR of a 24” no thread barrel along with a 16.5 and a 20.5 ???
The 457 Varmint MTR is available with a 16”, 20” or 24” barrel in Canada but it is threaded 1/2” x 20tpi.
The same way that the At-One is available in Canada with the match chamber in 16”, 20”, and 24” once again with 1/2” x 20tpi.
The Canadian importer imports directly from Czechoslovakia while in the USA, it’s CZ USA who decides what they want to import.
Right now it looks like everything is out of stock.

I have no clue what regulations the USA has on importing firearms.
I know that the Canadian rifles don't have any import markings.
Powder is burned between 16-18 inches. While longer barrels can potentially increase velocity slightly, the added benefit often diminishes beyond the ideal burn length, and can even lead to decreased accuracy due to increased bullet instability. I have a 16.5 inch CZ Varmint MTR Manners stock and it shoots as accurate as my 20 inch Vudoo.

There are whole threads on Rimfire sites that discuss this in detail. I’m not up on all of the reasons, but Anschutz might know a thing or two about accurate .22s and they would disagree with you.
Where did you get your info that a longer barrel would lead to instability?
The data that states that 22lr burns off all it's powder by 18" and loses muzzle velocity after 20" is why I went with a 20" barrel on my Vudoo when I ordered it.
That was my biggest mistake - being talked out of a longer barrel. So I'm sinking about half the money I spent on the barreled action to get it rebarreled. What a waste of my money.
