Does B&C stock mean improved accuracy?

I have a savage hog hunter in .308. I am wanting to buy a bell & carlson medalist stock. I reload but haven't worked up many loads thinking the new stock may change my groups. Question is, did your rifle shoot better with the new stock? How much of a accuracy increase did u get?

The most important question is how does the rifle shoot now? you may see and increase in accuracy. How much is anybody's guess. Do not expect a 1/4 MOA rifle out of a stock change, You have a factory rifle. Many shooters will find 1 MOA accuracy from a factory rifle more than acceptable

Despite being made from tapperware and iron sights comb - the factory stock does sport pillars; mechanically I doubt you will see any difference. However, better grip angle, solid forend, better comb, better recoil pad - all that will add to more consistent operator = better accuracy.

my r700 .308 sps varmit 26" heavier barrel contour shot 1.2-1.0 moa with factory crap stock w/FGGM. waited, waited and FINALLY a factory r700 aluminum bedded stock popped up fs here and i jumped all over it. did stock swap shot .7-.9 with new stock but had no better check weld so i ordered a xlr check rest and drop another .1-.2 moa. finally hand loaded and changed trigger out to much more repeatable pull trigger and finally have gun shooting .5-.6 if i do my part

I'm unfamiliar with the stock on the hog hunter.

However, the BC medalist is a quality unit. No, not as sweet as a McM or Manners, but way cheaper and still very good. Downside is they're a bit heavy.

My unmodified 10FP was honestly good for 1moa or maybe a shade better, with Federal Powershok 150 and GMM 168, in its plastic Tupperware stock.

I put it in a BC tactical medalist, skim bedded, and it would do 1/2 moa. Once I began reloading, I could often, but not always, shoot better than 1/2moa.

my hawg hunter grouped well even with the factory tuppeware. upside of the factory tuppeware is that it makes the rifle more portable. downside is that the factory tuppeware is absolute dook. the B&C makes it much more comfortable to shoot from the bench, and it doesnt feel like a cheap toy.

i really couldnt recommend anyone staying with the factory stock on this gun, it seems almost like an afterthought.

Unless the stock is absolute garbage, you will see minimal improvements at best. You may even see worse results. I went from an hs to a bc and it got worse. I then dropped in an Xlr and got a little improvement over the original hs. My reasoning was fit and feel.
