I’m think I’m gonna go shooting for the second time today!View attachment 7177011
I shot the nyx along with a sparrow, TBAC 22, and Mask using standard velocity CCI 22lr and federal 17 hmr. In the full configuration It’s 1.7 oz lighter than the TBAC, which is pretty light itself. Performance is great. I especially like the short config on a 22 rifle. Didn’t seem like I was giving up much if any suppression.
How did it compare to those three sound wise in the long configuration?
I have a Sparrow that I like, the meter testing I've seen says I'm not really going to beat it's suppression by much on a .22 rifle with anything out there, so I've been looking at lightweight and modular cans, mostly for pistols. The Nyx (probably the Mod 1), the TBAC and the Q El Camino seem to be the lightweight front runners.
The only real downside I see to the Nyx is that they seem to use basic k baffles instead of click together baffles like other brands, so I'm guessing they will be a lot tougher to disassemble after getting leaded up.

Always good to see company guys represented here.
I'm looking for a rimfire can to do double duty on rimfires and micro center fires, specifically a 17 hornet. So far, as far as I can find, only the mask lists 22 hornet. Can the NYX handle that kind of round with a 18inch-ish barrel?
Good god, how'd you find those numbers that fast? I've looked a bit and couldn't find the pressure numbers. I didnt realuze they were that close. I know most of the 22 cans are rated for the 5.7 now.
What should matter would be your residual pressure at the muzzle. The pressure at the muzzle of a 5" 5.7 is going to be much higher than the pressure at the muzzle of an 18" .17 Hornet and seems like total gas volume would be similar. It's hard to think of a reason why rifle length .17 Hornet would be a problem if 5.7 (primarily a pistol cartridge) is not.
