Amid the horrors and carnage that we all bore witness to yesterday in Boston, there was something else. A light that shone through the darkness like a beacon of hope.
While the event itself is a tragic reminder that we live in a different clime. It was good to see that so many people put their own personal safety aside and didn't hesitate to jump into the fray to help complete strangers. I'm not talking about 1st responders, that is our job. I'm talking about everyday people. People like Carlos in the video below who had to witness things that most people shouldn't, yet he rose to the occasion and most likely saved the life of a double amputee.
As a side note, that guy right there lost both his sons. One, a Marine who was killed while serving in Afghanistan and then his other son who took his own life shortly and due to his brothers death. Just when you think you've had a bad day you read a story like this man's story and it puts things into perspective.
