I bought a factory sps 700 243 about 6 months ago. I tore this gun apart and added a criterion 6.5 creedmoor barrel. After about 100 rounds metal from inside the bolt face had broken away from factory 700 extractor. I sent the bolt to a gunsmith who cut it for a sako extractor and I put it back on a 308 remage barrel. I fired 5 factory rounds to get on paper then started my OCW test. At a very load (I'd have to look again at my data ) but it was at the starting weight for that particular load. I ate a face full of powder and could not open the bolt. Here is what the bolt looks like after that case. Is it possible I got a bad bolt? The gun was head spaced correctly with go and no go gauges, torqued to 45 inch pounds. This load should have been light. Lapua brass full length sized, cci 200 primer 178 eldx under 42.5 grs of win 748.
