Local farmer/rancher has hired me to remove some problems this spring. Figured it was time to build something new for the job.

The rifle is a Kimber 84 Advanced Tactical II in 308 which will be more than enough for the job. Paid about $1200 USD for the rifle after shipping. The optic and just a cheap ATN X-Sight PRO 5-20. I've actually had good luck with them in the past (with the Gen One, 3-15x). This one is a little better and includes a ballistic calculator and a range finder built in. I only paid $488 USD for it after shipping so it keeps the cost down on something with a little night vision.

Funny you mentioned that. I was talking with my boss this morning and once bought an optic that was ATN and it shit the bed. He called their tech support and they no longer supported the software.

After one year of production.

So, he video'd himself lobbing into a trash bin (He shoots, he scores!) And then posted on FB and a few other places and also sent the video to the tech support. There response is that he could do with it whatever he wished.

So, not only a dud product but horrendous customer service and tech support, at least at the time.

I mean, great if you had good luck with it but you might like better the Burris Eliminator III or IV. Those will give you an aiming dot.

I have experience with neither, just going off the advice of others who have had experience.

I have watched a YouTube channel called Chuckin where he dispatches a lot of woodchuck (rock chucks, ground hogs) and he has tried a number of calibers but seem to do really with .22-250 and even tried a 6.5 CM. The advantage was that the recoil is so light and muzzle flip is minimal so that he could watch the bullet trace.

Good luck with the varmint hunting.
