Been wanting to get more fishing in so took the Yak out this afternoon for a bit.

Finally caught a decent fish on a lake that I started to doubt held any fish. I'm happy with it!

Nice fish. I love fishing my kayak. In our lakes, I can do a silent glide into likely spots. Even bass that have become spooky are fooled into thinking it's just a log. Only good for one strike per spot, but that's better than the other fishermen usually get.

I also fish Monterey Bay with it. I tighten down of the drag for salmon or sea bass. Let the fish drag the boat. It's an E-ticket ride while it lasts.

Congrats! That's a really nice fish. I had an interesting experience recently myself with no-boat fishing. I took out my rod and PFD, threw on some boots for foot protection and swam from spot to spot. Hooked up a couple little largemouths and a OK fish that was my largest of the day. Even a little fish like this still reminds you who has the upper hand in the water when you're floating around them...
