So figured I would give this a try and see what happened. RRA National Match Upper 20" 1/8 twist of sand bags for testing 100 yards
Load: 77gr SMK Laua brass CCI primers RL15 to Mag Length
Loaded 3 each at 22.4, 22.7, 23, 23.3, 23.6, 23.9, 24.2
21 rounds total
72 deg
42% Hum
480 alt

So this is what I got, 21 shots in about an inch square:

Those are 1" shoot n c pasties
Not sure if I should be happy that the riffle isn't very picky
Or upset that I screwed it up. I'm thinking ill need to push it to 200 or 300 yards and try again.

3finger, thanks, it figures tryimg to get verticle stringing and a shoot a nice group, shooting for groups and I string'm

Yea, I agree with the other posters, you're too close. With it shooting like that, I'd strech it out as far as you can, meaning 300, or better yet 400 + and the vertical dispersion will show itself.

+ (what is it now...5?) 5 on backing up.

I just ran a ladder test with .5 grain increments for a .260 @400 that yielded little to no decisive information as to an accuracy node. Ten rounds with a vertical spread that was just under 4" and all seemingly "evenly spaced".

Gonna try to get back to 600. Gotta get back a ways to get things opened up.

not to beat a dead horse but they are all right. at least you know now that at 100 you can throw the lightest loads for practice and saving a little money on powder and they will hold zero with your hotter loads. not totally wasted I guess.

Re: first attemp at Ladder test...odd result.

+1 on 'go ahead and dump'. A properly set up measure is more accurate than a digital scale imo.

Re: first attemp at Ladder test...odd result.

I did a 100, and mine looked close to that. ok, maybe not too close, but it's hard to tell as well. I'm gonna do it at 200 yards.

I did the sharpie thing, but the thing is I really had 4 colors that worked well (red/green/black/blue) so I did 1/2 and 1/2 on each side of the bullet, and those were hard to tell. I might try to do that qtip with alocohol thing to get the colors out. but I shot some submoa groups into those (the accuracry window I guess) and I have no idea what grains they are lol

+1 back up to 300 or beyond. If you can do the color marking. If the colors are hard to identify, you can try a touch of rubbing alcohol on a q-tip and run it on the inside of the circle it will bring out your marker colors.
