Need advice, I am looking to get into F-Class shooting and would like all opinions on this rifle. It would be .308 with either 20 or 24 inch barrel. I already have a Leupold 8.5x25x40mm scope and would mount it for starters..thank you Manny

Re: FN TSR XP

If a dedicated F-class rifle, I'd go 24" over 20". Dual use rifle for match, hunting then 20" might win out if majority of use will be hunting.

Should be a very solid starter rifle for F T/R use.

I'd run the heavier match bullets such as 190 SMK, 190 JLK, 185 Berger seated out long and single fed.

Re: FN TSR XP

The FN TSR XP is the opposite of what is needed for F class. F class rifles are heavy 18 or 22lbs with longer barrels for higher velocities for high bc bullets.

That FN model is purposely light and handy.

If you want a factory rifle for either F/TR or F Open the Savages can't be beat. They make an F/TR model in .308 if that is your choice in caliber.

Re: FN TSR XP

Just saw an advertisement for the Tikka T3 Sporter 20 or 24 inch and looks like it would be good for f-class. Has anyone used this rifle for f-class and if so what re your thought's. I have a Tikka t3 lite in .308 and it is one of the most accurate rifles I have ever had right out of the box - opinions please Thanks Manny
