F T/R Competition FN TSR XP

Need advice, I am looking to get into F-Class shooting and would like all opinions on this rifle. It would be .308 with either 20 or 24 inch barrel. I already have a Leupold 8.5x25x40mm scope and would mount it for starters..thank you Manny

If a dedicated F-class rifle, I'd go 24" over 20". Dual use rifle for match, hunting then 20" might win out if majority of use will be hunting.

Should be a very solid starter rifle for F T/R use.

I'd run the heavier match bullets such as 190 SMK, 190 JLK, 185 Berger seated out long and single fed.

The FN TSR XP is the opposite of what is needed for F class. F class rifles are heavy 18 or 22lbs with longer barrels for higher velocities for high bc bullets.

That FN model is purposely light and handy.

If you want a factory rifle for either F/TR or F Open the Savages can't be beat. They make an F/TR model in .308 if that is your choice in caliber.

Just saw an advertisement for the Tikka T3 Sporter 20 or 24 inch and looks like it would be good for f-class. Has anyone used this rifle for f-class and if so what re your thought's. I have a Tikka t3 lite in .308 and it is one of the most accurate rifles I have ever had right out of the box - opinions please Thanks Manny
