Suppressors Form 4 wait time

No worries. At this point it’s unclear how long papers will be, but if you plan on getting it in October then you likely won’t be disappointed and may get a pleasant early surprise.

So this is posted on the website I purchased my suppressor from. so I based it on this info.

The last I heard 05/04/22 e forms were being processed. Has anyone had anything after that date?

If you click on the appropriate "Megathread" you'll see people posting their approvals with certification dates. That's the best place to look I've found.

How many are processed per week?
they've been clearing somewhere around an average of 2500 control numbers/day, give or take.
So, somewhere between 15,000 - 20,000 / week, at least based on my last calcs.

Note: This is only the control number avg clearance... We don't know how many eF4's (which are a smaller subset of those control numbers) are actually being cleared on a daily basis.
As the average number of eF4's increases, all else held constant, this number will likely continue to decrease in clearance. Unfortunately, our buddies at SS and other such authorities are holding a lot of their numbers close to their chest and aren't allowing us to better predict based on the data.

Certified three cans on the same day (eform trust).

Silencer Shop has a cert date of 5/4/22, but I didn't get the eforms official emails for the cans until 5/5/22. So I'm not sure what my true actual cert date is.

First can approved on 1/29/23.
Second can approved 1/30/23.
Third can still waiting.

Again, all these cans were submitted at the same time.

I logged into my eforms account and can't find any info on these three cans. Also, I have logged into my Silencer Shop account and all three cans still show pending even though I have received the two emails on my two cans that were approved. I'm confused about all of this.

I own my own business and have gov't contracts in an unrelated industry. The industry that my profession is in is just as screwed up as this ATF/eforms crap. Hate gov't!!!

SS won't shown anything past pending unless you update them with dates yourself. They're out of the loop now.

Your eforms dashboard doesn't show anything because the dealer submitted the forms, not you. The dealer will have the form status on their side, you'll never see anything.

The only info you ever get is the emails.

I'll be interested to see if the math works out. At 2500ish per day, I should have my June 6 certified can in 28ish days, putting me right at end of Feb. That seems about twice as fast as I'd think. I was thinking more like end of march.

If you call, the dipshits at the ATF can only tell you pending, approved or disapproved if it’s an eform. They can’t even tell if it’s been assigned to an examiner “because it’s an eform.” Infuriating.

How long does it usually take silencer shop to efile once you have signed documents. Mine has been in the “preparing for eforms “ since Wednesday.
Can take a while sometimes. When I did mine about a year ago, the system kept crashing so it was over 2 weeks before I could certify.

I’m waiting to certify one now. It was ready to certify in 4 business days. But then eforms went down and they still cannot submit, been that way since last Monday

from some calcs i did, they were lost 10 days over christmas, meaning the approvals were getting slower by 10 days. recently, they have picked that back up and are at the 269-270 time frame. HOPEFULLY, they are picking up speed.

call your senators and congressmen, have their staff hammer the ATF about this. its about the only recourse we realistically have right now.

once you have e-signed the responsible persons form, how does it take 4 business days to get submitted?

reason 763 i will never use SS for anything NFA again.

I’d assume it’s so they can review it for customer fuckups. Maybe not needed but Iv had good dealings with silencershop if only so I don’t need to do finger prints with ink.

After posting the above I was able to certify my can, looks like it’s back to working.

Yeah I've had good experience with SS also and I've done a number of cans with them. My latest one is ready to certify I'm just trying to set it up with my dealer.

Call your dealer, it is likely already prepped in his SS account. When the dealer logs in to his SS account it can take a few minutes to finish building the file to submit to ATF. The notification from SS that it’s ready isn’t timely.

Some dealers are simply not proactive to login to their accounts daily and check status of what is ready to certify AND checking their email for approvals from ATF and call their customers and when those factors exist it’s time to find a new dealer.

This is the forth day for me. What do you have to do when it’s ready to certify
Fill out the form electronically with your ffl. In person or through a shared browser

My guess is the problems ss is having with the atf currently are the reason your form is taking longer than expected.

Still faster than waiting on the mail and your check to clear with a paper form

Thanks for your replies. I appreciate it

I got a reply from silencer shop, and they are waiting for my ff to stage it, and they said they looked and my ff had tried a few times but evidently could not get through the atf website

I've only ever had good experiences with Silencer Shop. I think most of these "bad experiences" are with shitty dealers that are trying to blame it on Silencer Shop. Every time I've submitted and then DocuSigned, my cans have been ready to certify within 24 hours, and my dealer is always johnny-on-the-spot about calling me to let me know that my can(s) are ready to Certify. Which is usually either the same day that I DocuSigned, or the following morning.

I think shitty dealers and technologically-retarded individuals have clusterfucked this new system making it seem like SS is to blame 100% of the time, when I'd venture to guess it's more like 10% of the time, and the other 90% being the dealers' fault.

Is silencer shop still down
That wasn't on SS's end... That on the ATF's end. Their payment system was fucked.

Typical government bureaucratic bullshit. They spend billions of tax payer money to make something as slow and shitty and remedial as possible, and claim it's "advanced". But in reality, it's slow as fuck, buggy, crashes all the time, and looks like it was made in 1995, and still uses floppy disks, because it was most-likely contracted out to some "buddy" that someone up high knows, or some DBE that doesn't get regular contracts because their work sucks, but gets .gov contracts because they're minority owned.

I deal with DBE's all the time in my line of work. They're essentially Affirmative Action contracts. More often than not, hiring a DBE simply because they're a DBE, and NOT because they're the most qualified company for the job, is essentially the job market equivalent of all the other kids voting for the special needs kid for Prom King/Queen, because they all feel sorry for them, not because they were the most deserving of the award.

I'll say this. I agree with you except on two i am doing now. I did pick a shitty dealer (unknowingly) and it took 2 months to get that guy to do 2 form 4s. I walked him through the process. He finally got them done and submitted for review to SS on 1/19 to go through the full auto software. SS still hasn't sent me to docusigns nor have they responded to my several emails nor the DM I sent here yesterday at the time of this post.

I'm trying to be patient. I can handle if they say it could be weeks but the no answers bothers the fuck out of me. Im trying to be a patient individual so I won't call till Friday..
