This is the first time in several years that I dont have at least 1 Form 4 pending. The first one took about 2 months. I picked up the last one yesterday and it was 6 months. It feels good to not be waiting anymore.

I must have been living well or have good karma coming my way got a second call today on other items from RPG this time that two more stamps came back today! Three cans from two dealers in one day Yea. Thats a shock. I will edit this post tomorrow with the dates on the checks etc. Happy times. PG

PS. Also the new stamps are shiny not matt looking like the ones from last year. PG

On the last form 1 (SBR)and 3 (YHM 308) it took almost exactly 6 month from when the check was cashed till I had the SBR paperwork in my hand. I pick up the suppressor tomorrow. Oh, they were both on a trust.

Got two stamps this week. Pending October 4, approved March 12, stamp March 16. And my examiner quit or retired during process. Looks like susan siverio will be doing AL's stuff now. I should be getting another stamp in a week or so.

I think the way to handle the wait is to buy more stuff. Once they start coming in the wait isn't so bad. I should have another 10 stamps come in this year due to an estate purchase. Guess i will be on atf "fuck me first" list.

Any clue of subsequent form 4s get approved faster once you have already recently had some go through? Had 2 Form 4 go pending 9/15/2011 that got approved 2/25/2012, and have 2 more now that I purchased on 3/13/2012. Checks are cashed on 3/19/2012 but were not yet pending as of 3/22/2012.

If it gets faster its by a very small amount. The pending date seems to be about a month give or take after the check clears from what I have seen. PG

If you sent paperwork in after the first of the year.... prepare to wait a bit longer. They have to clear a back log before they can enter into 2012 forms. Its not a huge deal but it will take a bit longer then normal.

I'm about to bite the bullet and submit paperwork for 3 suppressors, maybe even an AOW but not sure if I really want the shotgun. I'm guessing the best way to go about this is pay the tax stamps, turn in the paperwork and try to forget everything or find this Sarah Jones chick since she seems to be approving quite a few of the peoples paperwork here and date her.

Excellent. I have a few stamps pending myself, and one with mid-october date so I have a dog in this hunt big time. With the reports of approvals this week (as long as one of them was on a trust), then there probably is no official pause to the approval process.

There are some big changes coming to the NFA approval process, and it will be more work to get trusts approved. I use trusts, and don't want extra hassle of photo/fingerprints for all responsible parties. Not hiding anything, just don't want to do it.

Where are you getting this info? I called the ATF NFA yesterday and they just said they are swamped. No changes in the works other than trying to get more examiners on board.

He has probably been to bass pro shops. The 19 year olds behind the counter are all knowing when it comes to NFA items. I hear of more missinfomation coming out of there than any place.

I have been getting them back between 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 months and I have not seen any difference in time between and Individual or Trust.

I'm surprised you guys (moderators) don't have an FFL license with all of the new equipment you test on a daily basis. This being said with the assumption that FFL's don't have to wait like someone without the license. Maybe I'm talking out of my ass on something I have no idea about though?

According to the calculator linked on the NFAtracker website it's looking like 8-9 months for a check cashed today. I'm still waiting for mine to get to the dealer. Looks like potentially January before I'll officially be in the class 3 club.
