Just curious, what's your basis for that statment? If the BATFE really wants to keep NFA items out of our hands, what's keeping them from doing so? I don't want to be disagreeable but your statement strikes me as being more conjecture than anything else.

You do realize that one of the principle reasons why the ATF was started was to keep certain things out of the hands of americans right?

I do. I also understand the practicality of keeping certain things out of the hands of certain people. While I do not feel that suppressors should be in that classification, the ATF still insures that you are legally viable to own one and then issues permission to own it. I personally wouldn't want to get in trouble for obtaining something I wasn't legally able to possess. If it were a case of them actually withholding something to which you were legally entitled, it would be different, but the fact is they are still approving the requests being submitted, albeit slowly.
