Suppressors Form 4 wait time

What took yours so long? I mailed two in first week of January 2013 and had them approved in September 2013. Nine months to the day.[/QUOTE]

Why ask such a question? If I knew what took that long then I would be able to shed some light on the time frame that it takes from start to finish.

Your question is like why is your dick only 2 inches ?

Pissed off ? yes becaue I hate when people question me about somethimg I have no control over nor have any reason to lie about something and then question me How's come it took so long ?

I only know that I sent it in Jan 13 and recived it a few days before Christmas of 13.

Sandra Snook was my examiner and the past 2 times that is how long it took. Who knows....maybe she drags her feet maybe the Gods of the suppressors don't look favorable on me. We can speculate all we want but I am not the only one that it took as long as it did.

Don't believe me ? I can send prrof when the check was sent, cashed and when the stamp made it to my dealer.

Maybe the ones who recived it faster are blessed. If so good for you. Maybe Sandra has a hard on for guy's who want cans. Maybe she hates me. Who the Fu*K knows.

There is no reason for me to lie about the time frame.

Are the eForms only a "shorter" wait because you bypass waiting for check to be cashed and enter pending status? Or do they for some reason actually effect the wait period in general?

I submitted an eForm (form 1) on 1/8/2013, 1/9/2013 payment processed/entered pending status, just curious what other eForm users have experienced. I'm fully anticipating a 9mos wait but it would be a pleasant surprise if it was approved by July.

Your right.

My apology to all who were offended by my rant.

My question was of rhetorical nature. You called Walter out for saying that his E-filed form four only took 4 months. This is consistent with what others who have E-filed are reporting. So you must have not read his post entirely and are jumping to conclusions because you are comparing apples to oranges. On a second note, I guarantee you would not talk to me like that in person so why do it from behind the safety of a keyboard? You only make yourself look foolish in front of the entire Snipers Hide community by posting shit like that. If you care at all about making any friends around here, I suggest you change your attitude. Otherwise, you can go back to AR15.com where that kind of non productive behavior is accepted.

OK tough guy.

I apologized what else do you want ?

I guarantee you would not talk to me like that in person so why do it from behind the safety of a keyboard?

And you likewise.

Oh

I used to have Sandra for my examiner. The wait times were typical of then ( 6 months +/- ). Better than some, average for others. But we had the federal sequester last October ( they weren't working but everyone was still sending in their forms 1 & 4 ) and the holidays in November ( and December ). Not too surprised of the extended wait times. But, at least you got your can.

To all Walter and smiml7

I am here to apologize again.

I will man up and admit that I should not have posted what I did.

I can give you my word that this will not happen again.

My sincere hope is that everyone here will not hold this against me and we can start fresh.
I was just frustrated because it took so long.

My sentiments exactly.

If you look at the trend graph on nfatracker dot com, it's starting to look like a log curve of microorganism growth.

Reminds me of my algebra-trig days as an undergrad... curve is almost asymptotic with 2014

I got three cans pending last July-August, 2013, I'm thinking they'll corrode by the time I'm approved (Dana Pickles).

Nah, stainless and titanium. They'll keep, but DAMN!

These are the longest NFA waits ive ever had... sent two suppressors out a week apart in May 2013, pending in June, called last week and estimated mid April 2014.

My e-file friends make fun of me and tell me I could likely cancel the stamps, refile electronically and still have them sooner than the snail method :(

And the gun nut in me is telling me max out the credit cards on class 3 stuff before the e-file wait gets to a year as well :D

I just submitted via efile 2 weeks ago. My dealer estimates a max of 4 months. I will update when I receive approval. I don't understand why the process takes this long. Snail mail or efile.
Can anyone comment on what the actual procedure the BATF performs upon receiving the applications??????

Did a search for this inside this thread and came up with a blank.

I got this from VCDL dot org's 02/10/14 Update and, although the lead-in pertains to MG registration in Virginia, the second "article" refers to BATFe's "apparent inability of the Obama Administration to change the tax stamp process any time soon."

Maybe they (the lawyers) know something we mere mortals are not privy to, but it's all interesting stuff germane to this thread.

[h=2]Latest ATF eFile Data

BATFE collects statistics for submissions to its six month-old ATF eFile system on a weekly basis. For the week ending Wednesday February 5, 2014, BATFE reported the following:
[/h]

  • New ATF eForm user registrations: 405
  • Form 1 submissions: 208
  • Form 3 submissions: 930
  • Form 4 submissions: 898
ATF eFIle is only available to those using a legal entity like the Arsenal Gun Trust when requesting tax stamps for firearms regulated by Title II of the National Firearms Act (NFA). These firearms include silencers, short barrel rifles and shotguns, and machine guns.
While some gun dealers and private users report intermittent glitches, the data above indicates ATF eFile overall is still going strong. Requests for tax stamps submitted through ATF eFile are typically processed in 90-100 days. The conventional paper process lasts 9-12 months. Consequently demand for NFA firearms has increased.
Incidentally, while BATFE launched ATF eFile, prospective NFA owners have also been encouraged by the apparent inability of the Obama Administration to change the tax stamp process any time soon.
These conditions make this the best time in years to obtain NFA firearms.
Contact Arsenal Attorneys so you can become eligible to use ATF eFile by using our Arsenal Gun Trust."

Stamp Received?

great news. what state?

i have two that went pending a month after yours that the ATF told me back in December would be approved in April. If this is any indicator, i might be looking for it in March, instead. Guess efile is taking some load off the paper filers and they look like they are speeding up a tad bit.

Cool, I mailed mine April 8th with pending date of June 15th. Hopefully soon I will be getting a call. :) What region are you guys in and whom signed your forms? Thanks.

Bunsen - I have not received notice and I don't have a stamp as of yet. You should call them.

I am in Colorado. Cant remember off the top of my head who signed it, but it was not Jason like I was expecting.

Thanks for the update guys!! I'm sure my dealer will be giving me a call later this week or next. This is for my TBAC 30P-1 so I can wait a little while longer on it. Now my Silencerco Sparrow and SBR Form 1 I was chomping at the bit to get my hands on last Fall. Those are my "super fun" toys. ;)
