This started back when I was in high school in '69 when we opened a brand new school in an affluent area. I got into it with a 'hippy' and got sent to the office. I wasn't admonished so much for kicking his ass as much as for using the term 'hippy'.

The coaches smiled but a damn good head coach that put us on the map in football later straightened a hippy out that popped something off at him and the hippy parents went to the schoolboard and started a campaign to get the coach removed. He ultimately did leave but went on to become an assistant coach under Darrell Royal at U.T.
