The FV has been sitting in the box propped in the corner for a year before it was topped today with a Vortex Crossfire II 3x9x40 budget glass on Redfield aluminum tacticool four whole rings. This is my handy plinker, tin can killer, pest gitter, paper wacker. I picked up the FV because I wanted a bolt action, magazine fed, short barreled rifle basically a compact .22 and this one fit the bill.

Here I am getting the rifle level, I could not find my torpedo so the 4' had to do...

The level is sitting on the rail.

I used the peek through bore at paper taped to the wall, mark and get the reticule close method, it was within 1.5" at 50' with cb longs in the backyard. I also cut and piled up cardboard taped on the comb and to lengthen the LOP so I have a measurable adjustment to go from. Now I need to get creative on the factory plastic to get it to fit me better....frankenstock.....I really would like some nice thumb-whole wood and different rings and base to lower the scope but I am using what I have till $$$ flow better.

Well I started on the comb raising project today before I headed to work. I started with a p[iece 1/16" (roughly did not put a mic on it) x4" wide x9" long stainless sheet metal and bent it to a U shape to slip dowm over the rear of the stock to make a adjustable cheek pice to be raised from .0" to 2."s. The plan is to bed some alluminum threaded anchors in the stock and slot the cheek pice for the hieght adjustment, like a poor mans Karstens. I have been wanting to try something like this for my 308 so the mkII is going to be the geanue pig and if it turns out well I will duplicate it it for the centerfire. I will get pic up when I get the next day off.

My plan is to use stuff I have laying around the house to make the most out of this tuperware stock to make it fit me better.

Do yall think that JB Weld (allready have some) will work for the anchors Or should round up some better epoxy for metal to plastic? Thanks
