It fulfills its intended roll by taking up minimal room while adding strength to the mounted pair for an already crowded match backpack.
Got my Pelican 1060/1062 setup in the mail today. Got it all picked out and setup to hold the XERO, Gray Ops ARCA mount, cable, and tripod.
Slightly bigger than I was hoping it would be, but overall, I really like the fact I can keep all my XERO stuff together in 1 box.

Quick thread derail..can I get info on the black on white elevation turret or is that a TT only thing?
Google search reveals a few options, but none like what I see. Is there a link to the preferred vendor?
I'm a minimalist when it comes to weight and bulk. Especially with my range bag. It's already 20 pounds without ammo so I wont add an ounce to it if I can help it!

Area 419 bracket is really attractive and I almost bit into it! But, decided not to attach the Garmin to the rifle - recoil, dropping the rifle, snagging the Garmin on something, and all the other things that could go wrong I haven't thought about yet.

FWIW this is the link to Amazon of the bag shown on my post above. They are made from a PVC impregnated canvas and come in threes.
I use the two smaller ones in my range bag. One for all tools I take to the range (not many), and the other one I'm now using for the Garmin. Below are pics of the tool bag and contents. Again, minimalism but I can even take the bolt apart.

I hate hard cases and I had one of these lying around. Fits my Garmin + tripod.

Yeah, these are complete overkill IMO. It defeats the purpose of having such a small and lightweight footprint. The Cole-Tac is padded and well built with half the footprint
I have to agree with you on that, except that there was a 1060 sitting unused on the workbench and I’m ito the set for the $10 for the foam. Memsahib wanted me to go that route so there was less chance of me leaving the Garmin at the range
.I do have a Go-Pro case too which fits my range bag much better.
MyCaseBuilder.com They have the Harbor Freight case sizes as well as others to use as the template. Then use an online foam design tool to aid you in your layout. Snap a photo on your devices, add some dimensions, put them where you want them, add the finger holes and your pretty much done.

Garmin says locate the devise 5-15" from the bore, but I'm seeing people here mounting them less than this with plates like the one above. How is this working out? Is it picking up shots? Has anyone compared the measure velocities of one mounted this way to one on its tripod at 5-15" away?
Update: Did NOT take it and test it after hearing about possible warranty issues with mounting it to an arm attached to a firearm. In my shooting it is simply unnecessary. It does so well picking up shots, the arm for me doesn't bring anything to the table.

Don't really need them, but they look cool and supports a small business.
I like the one the guy here makes better. It fits perfectly and covets the whole thing but is thin.
I ordered and received my custom foam for a pelican 1060 case. He did really cool work. Came from rangepanda.com

Those mounts look awesome but the smartass in me begs a question for this delicate precision instrument…. You all are buying cases to protect this awesome little device but are going to direct mount it to your rifle. Why subject it to the recoil? I haven’t used my xero but if it is anything like my lab radar the set up takes seconds if the tripod is mounted. Seems unnecessarily risky. Garmin should weigh in on this.
The chief Garmin engineer who developed the Xero C1 literally stated they developed the product mounted to a big magnum ELR gun since 2020. Listen to the Shooters Mindset Podcast. It's a non-issue.
Will the Chief Garmin Engineer warranty the Xero against failures resulting from recoil? No. No he will not.
So, it is an issue. Given that BulletSeeker, AndiScan, and now Labradar LX all support this and warranty their products for this.... this is a legitimate differentiation with the offerings.
Is it functionally different? I have no idea. But it is financially different, in the event of a warranty claim. Garmin needs to step up and not be mealy mouthed about it.
I havne't even rifle-mounted mine yet. I use the little GrayOps XERO QD mount on a tripod because it has ARCA feet, and I haven't even used the rilfe-mounted ARCA clamp part yet other than to test-fit it on some rifles. I mount my Garmin on a tripod and leave it sitting on the bench beside the rifles.

Garmin Xero / Gray Ops Picatinny Tripod Rail
I created a 3D printed picatinny rail section with a 1/4-20 nut to attach directly to the Garmin bipod. This allows you to quick connect to the Gray Ops QD Mount.
Allows for quick swaps between bipod and mounts (Gray Ops ARCA/Picatinny, etc.). Printed in PETG+ at 100 infill for strength.
2/3/2024 - Added an additional STL file with a 1/4-20 brass heat set insert hole.
3D STL files attached.

I have been using an old Otterbox 8000 to house everything that came in the box. Unfortunately Otterbox don't make these foam-lined containers anymore, but they're probably still available somewhere. Waterproof to 100ft and can vouch for this having used them while diving.
The little Pelican 1010 also fits and the lid closes. If all you want to do is protect the radar then this is the smallest Pelican case that will fit. The tripod will have to sit in your bag unprotected, but hey, it's a plastic tripod.
I agree with some of the guys above, it's working fine without needing after-market attachment rails or covers. It has a 52 degree emitter cone so super forgiving for pointing it downrange while shifting the barrel at different targets (a German guy on YT built a device to measure its emitter angle). I get that some guys want to move with it attached to their rifle, but I've never needed MV when doing that. Also don't want something hanging off the side snagging and getting in the way of shooting.
The radar seems pretty robust as is, so getting recoiled and knocked around in your range bag is not really the issue. That leaves lens protection. I use a taller tripod when shooting standing but don't use or need attachment rails and bases. You don't even need an Arca base. Screwing it on a standard 1/2" thread takes 10 seconds. A lot of this seems to be solutions looking for problems, or guys flexing their machining skills.
Unlike the issues we had with Labradar, these things work right out of the box. Storing them a decent case seems natural, but let's be honest, a kids pencil case or old sock would also work.

It looks like a lot of the weapon-mounted options utilize the bottom ARCA rail, I think it make sense in some situations but personally don't like that it limits the full travel of the weapon on tripod head. For handguard with M-LOK on the side, this would be an alternative.
Plan to make this out of selective laser sintered Nylon 12 like the bipod feet/power bank carrier I make to keep the cost down, but still be plenty strong, especially with the Isogrid reinforcement at the bottom.

Maybe one suggestion, because I'd like one, is the ability to secure/remove it from the Mlok without removing the xero. So, essentially offsetting the mlok fastener so it's accessible.
Thanks - with a ball-point hex key you can actually get to the MLok screw, and the short end also fits for the final tightening. But I can see it may not always be the case with what's available at hand, let me tweak it a bit and see what improvement I can do.
