I sure as hell wasnt looking. I had written down my plans about what I was gonna do being divorced. Had nothing to do with hanging around women except my daughter.
I asked a friend how she dealt with her kids being gone for the weekend to the other parents.
My ex was not very involved in child raising and I had been a full-time parent for a few years. Had no idea how much my kid being gone sometimes would suck.
We chatted. Now Im fixin to marry her.
She fits the bill for MK20 too.
Christian, smart, kind, giving, an amazing mother, tough as hell (raising 2 kids alone, one with rocking ADHD), wise with $, and smokin hot.
That last one effects me more than when I was 17......
She isnt perfect and no one is. Im a very rare and lucky case.

I'm not familiar with the Jody term.
There is a little bit of military around here, the remnants of Moffet field and the Palo Alto VA, recruiting centers and maybe a few at the Rocketdyne facility, who knows what else but it's certainly not a military town.
I just looked up Jody, nope, not me. I don't mess with women that are spoken for. That's why my dating pool does not include the women I know who are married or dating other men.
Also, the cost of living is so high here that I don't think a military man would leave a wife here unless she had a damn good career herself.

In regards to out of my league, I have a pretty high opinion of myself. Most women do worse than me. I have an awful example of that actually but it's too fucked up to mention here.
Any way, as awesome as I am, she has more options. Heck, friend #2 with the great personality (I assume) has plenty of options.
For me, the women I'm attracted to are overwhelmingly unavailable and those who are available have options. A lot of those options are guys that will tell them whatever they want to hear, they've got a $200,000 a year programming job at Facebook or they are some sort of pretty boy.
I make less than $200,000 a year. I won't blow smoke up her ass. I'm not terribly pretty.
Beyond that I've done a lot of stuff in half a lifetime that most people wouldn't get to in five. It's probably not interesting to the woman who likes pretty boys or being lied to.
That's not me beating myself up, that's me describing the challenge I face.
I don't seem to attract psychos, often times after rejecting my advances I'll hear that a woman I'm attracted to is dating a guy who is unemployed, a criminal, some sort of emo SJW type or a combination.
I don't think I can chalk that up to poor taste on my part unless I'm somehow attracted to women with poor taste because otherwise they seem to exhibit style, common sense and even have reasonably successful careers.

I would be fine with a solid moderate.
Around here I'm comparatively a hardcore conservative, most other places I'm probably on the moderate/conservative fence. The liberals around here would be a little too communist if they lived in Russia.

Funny thing is that I met my future wife the evening of the very same day (morning) that I swore off "chasing girls". Seriously. I didn't know what I wanted, or what I was looking for, but I knew I wasn't looking for another one nighter. I was about 22 and literally, I had "stopped looking" that very same morning". That can be hard to find because while I try not to be serious, I don't often find myself outclassed and I'm surrounded by some of the smartest people in the world.

IQ near even works well. If you are way off balance on EQ, it will never work.

Very often, you have to go outside your comfort zone to get the kind of girl you want.
I live in Santa Barbara, which is a pretty girl haven, but many of them are extremely intellectually unsatisfying.
So, as I liked to say, I had to leave Santa Barbara to find my beach bunny. (And I joke that, just like beer, foreign is better than domestic)
But to get to the practical in terms of interaction, the phrase that my wife says won her over was when, after she said she wasn't looking for a boyfriend right now, I responded with, "well, ok, but I'm pursuing you. If you ever come to the determination that there will NEVER be anything of a romantic relationship between us, please let me know, because I don't need yet another female friend."
The trick is you also have to mean it.
Self-respect when pursuing a girl will get a girl that has written you off to regret having done so (do NOT take those girls back), but will also attract a girl that has her sh*t together.
Be funny, be charming, but be intentional. Don't be creepy about it, but if she backs off because of your directness, drop her like a bad habit. That is the kind of girl that will do nothing but play games.

You are there to talk to her. Period. Be polite and engage with her friends, but make it known you are pursuing her. Forthrightness is a desirable trait in a girl worth pursuing.

Cameron has never been in love - at least, nobody's ever been in love with him.
