Just a little question regarding laser rangefinders. I am finding golf rangefinder to range from 10 - 100 yards. This is to set up targets at the pits I would shoot at a couple of times a year, and possibly shooting my pellet rifle at the cottage (10 yards). Anyways, the majority of the use of the couple times I would go shooting would be to range 30, 50, and 100 yards. Would a laser golf rangefinder work for this, or do I need to invest in a hunting type rangefinder? I do have an add out on the EE looking for an older rangefinder, but was just wondering if I would get away with a cheap golf unit. Thanks.

I have an old Bushnell, and it goes down to short ranges. I’d expect any old rangefinder to do the trick for that range.

If it’s a one time / static use get the cheapest fishing line you can fine at a big box store.

Spend 10 min with a tape measure and make some knots or magic marker marks every yard.

Wind it up when your done

$5 and the batteries never melt
