Rifle Scopes Got a new Colt A3/A4 20” gov upper. What scope?

Bought it just before the recent Colt panic for $380.

20” give profile with FSB

It shoots really great with irons.


Was thinking about putting a Steiner px5i???

What would you recommend?

I’m looking to set it up as a mid range SHTF rifle.

I already have an 18” Lauren stealth upper that is set up for long range.

Which version? The 4x32 is very popular. It'll cover the mid range.

If you can afford the cost, it's by far the best choice you can make. 10-15 year illumination and lifetime daylight illumination without batteries. And as mentioned, solid and reliable.

I guess it’s an m16 A3/A4 upper. New production with cage code.

The new variable optics are quite good. I prefer the 1-6 or 1-8 range. My eyes arent what they were 20 years ago. The extra mag range helps

get the TA31RCO then. It's calibrated for the 20" bbl. I prefer the ACOG on an AR. It does not have the bulky, awkward feel of a traditional scope, but I do have both setups.
