Has anyone used A-Tips in 6.5CM yet?

I've still got more testing to do. Had some odd readings the other day. I seated a few deeper to the longer jump just to see what happens. I got a lot more speed and s.d.'s went to crap, but I think it was the weather. DA was almost double first test and the temp/humidity was a lot worse. I think it became a "worst case" test. Still accurate and I didn't notice any pressure issues. It's just hard to continue wanting to push these when my ol'faithful SMK's never stumble. I shot those the same day and there was barely any difference in performance from prior testing.

As in close come ups and wind holds?

In regards to the SMK's, yes. This load has never had S.D.'s larger than 6, speed is usually somewhere around 2785-2795. The day I spoke of, the speed only increased to 2805-10 with the same S.D. range while the A-Tips jumped sporadically. It's sort of a zero sum gain until I shoot both way out a lot to see what happens. At this point, they aren't worth the hassle.

Hey Fellas, I am the guy posting on Instagram about getting the 153's moving fast with (The screen shots that were posted in the first few posts of this thread)
I will tell you my current load is 45.5 of rl 26, 153 atips, Federal match mag primers. COAL of 2.950 26 inch barrel (Bolt action). They are moving at 2818FPS with single-digit sds and a half moa, and getting me half inch groups. I know that sounds fast, but I can assure you it is not overpressure. My Bolt will not let me go overpressure, and matching up with quick load data I basically can't go over 50,000 psi without having primer flow that pops the primer (I need to get my bolt bushed I can even load max with h4350 without this happening) . My primers are completely round, not flat at all, zero marks on the brass, the bolt is easy to lift etc.
I have tested the hell out of these rounds, but primarily with RL 26. I did a little testing with RL 16 and 17. Basically just a Satterlee on each and a group or two.
Rl17 best speed I got was 2743 at 42.2 Grains
Rl16 got me 2761 at 42.9gr!
Hope this helps, I do believe getting 2950 with rl26 at the 153s is very possible at safe preasure, there is just something different about the RL26, I guess its the slower burn rate!

Also note this is all with a barrel that has 4000 rounds through it, that being said my new barrel just came in today so back to load development!

Yeah, I got 2830+- with N560 in my 28" barrel. I could push harder but started seeing pressure. Frankly I found the 135s moving 2900+ had very similar, slightly better dope #s out to a mile. For me, the juice ain't worth the squeeze. The 135 load was much easier on brass.

I keep hearing about this N560 would you say its a good rl26 alternative? I have only 1lb left of 26 and need to figure out what I am going to use.
So I am trying to push these 153's out WAY past what a 6.5 is ment to do, I have a goal in mind, and lets just say they are performing well out to 2800 yards, I like the 135s but need the weight of the 153s to get out there.
ALSO NEED TO KEEP THEM MOVING FAST!

I think it is a good powder. Vihtavuori powders are supposed to be some of the best. I have only used the N560 so far and it has done great, consistent and good velocities. But it is a double based powder and runs dirty.

I’ve settled on 42.5gr H4350 with 135gr A-Tip from an 18” Proof CF. Shot a coyote at 100y facing me last weekend, it was pretty brutal. Going to load up some more and trying some more calling since the weather is starting too cool down some. I think these will be the ticket on some long coyote shots this winter.

At 40ish gr of extruded powder the level of the powder in my cases (6.5CM) is at the base of the shoulder. If I seat the bullet far enough in the case to get a whole neck worth of bullet in the neck the base of the bullet is at the base of the shoulder. How are you guys fitting 42+gr of powder in a 6.5CM case?
