i just put my leoupold lr 8x25 scope on my wifes new blaser tec 2 that she got today. i am loaning her this scope untill i save enough to get her a night force. when i used it on my 338 hart i never changed powers. she has her cheek pc set for her face to rest on and when she goes from 8 up to 25 power she has to move about an inch closer to the scope. i never noticed this before. then her cheek pc is out of wack. has any one had this problem ??

The 6.5-20 and 8.5-25 leupold that I have owned and seen in the past had/have the same problem. I think all scopes change a little bit, but I dont know of any others off hand that are as bad as these.

Most scope loose eye relief as they go up in magnification. When setting your eye relief, the scope should be set at the highest magnification, so you'll have correct eye relief/FOV at every magnification.

Everyone with variable Leupy's....most of their models have variable eye relief.
If you look at their specs they list eye relief as X.XX"-X.XX"

This is a leupold problem, I have never experienced it with other scopes. I have owned a cuople of 6,5-20 over the years and they have all been sold due to that reason.
BUT, I belive they have gotten much better and the problem is not nearly as severe on modern Leupolds as it was 20 years ago.

I guess I never viewed it as a problem, just a product of the design. As said above, set up your/her cheekpiece with the scope on max magnification, and it'll work when mag is reduced. Not that big of a deal really, the eye relief should still be enough.
