Dear Fellow Members,

New to the site and need info if someone is so inclined to answer. I purchased a set of D&L (Dave Lauck)34mm rings (from an unnamed dealer at this point) and received what look like Badger 34mm MAX 50's. The rings match the look of Badger's and have the markings "7034". My understanding is that D&L rings are fully custom and share very little in looks with Badger. Does this number correspond with any Badger Product? Are D&L Rings just re-labeled Badgers?

Thank you for your help with this matter.

Re: Help with Bait and Switch on Badger 34mm Rings?

By looking at the D & L website it appears that, contrary to your statement above, D & L rings looks a HELLUVA lot like BO rings.

The most obvious difference is that the D & L rings are flat where the cap screws go in, while the BO rings have an angle in that location.

I agree that they look very different. That is where the, "did I get ripped off" question came from. I don't know how to load pictures. I don't have my own website to host pictures as it states in the FAQ portion of this page. That said they look exactly the top picture. I was also wondering if the number engraved on them alone could unquestionably delineate it as a Badger product.

Here's an "assist" on the photo:

And FWIW...from the front "cross-section" view...those sure look like Badger rings based on the lack of the "flat" portion where the cap screws sit!

Re: Help with Bait and Switch on Badger 34mm Rings?

Thanks for the help on photo, do I choose floating photo next time? So as it seems the unnamed shop just charged my over 366.00 for Badger rings repackaged in a D&L box. Fantastic! I will return them today and see what I get for a response from them and get back to you with results. I'm hoping it was an honest mistake on their part as I have spent over $7500.00 with this place in last two months. I don't want to loose faith in another local shop...I'm running out of places to shop.

Thank You all for your help in this matter. I heard this place at times can be confrontational with new members...I did not see that what so ever.

I will post photos of the REPR I was mounting it on and the S&B 5-25x56 PMII CCW MIL that I was going to mount to it now that I know how.

You had the pic correct, but you included one too many tags...deleting one in front and one behind makes it show up the way it should.

As for the rings...I don't want to call anyone out or suggest any improper business practices without more info, etc., but I'd certainly be suspicious if I were in your shoes. Additionally, if you honestly paid $366 for ANY set of rings, you need to get your money back and buy a set of Badgers for a fraction of the price anyway!!! That is simply a RIDICULOUS amount of money for a set of rings (34mm or not). The Badger rings are simply some of the finest rings in the industry in my opinion and can be had for <$200/set for any 34mm offering they make! See what you can do about getting a refund and then get with Steve at Triad Tactical about setting you up with the correct model/height Badgers. He's a Hide vendor/sponsor and he'll treat you right without the worry of any "shady" business practices!!

Re: Help with Bait and Switch on Badger 34mm Rings?

I had waited for three week to get the rings into this shop. After doing business with him for some time I did not expect any funny business and did not even look at the price on the slip that I signed (enter you are stupid remarks here). I knew before hand that the D&L rings were only 20.00 more than the Badgers and was happy to pay that but not some astronomical made up amount that they had charged. Heck, we even looked at the price together on D&L website together. I should have just purchased the Badgers off one of this sites vendors...I would not have waited and spent 40.00 in gas driving down there and back twice.

I just returned from the gun shop and no issues returning the rings. I will confront them after my other order comes in from three weeks ago that I have already paid for. I don't want any issue with that order now too.

Thanks

Re: Help with Bait and Switch on Badger 34mm Rings?

I looked at my rings I purchased from Lauck in person. They look just like the Badgers that are pictured. So, maybe your supplier might be a good guy after all. Call Lauck directly and he can tell you what you have.
