So, Im in the market for a couple new scopes but I wanted to check some other opinions before I make one of my decisions. I would appreciate any suggestions around $1,500
Ive been pretty set on buying a Sightron SIII 10-50x60mm. I already own the 8-32x56mm with the LRMOA-2 reticle (that im quite happy with) so im really not looking for anything under 32x.
Im open to the idea of fixed magnification and will be taking that into consideration as well. Im also flexible with regard to the reticle, I wouldnt mind a nice target style or crosshair design but im not limiting it.
What im looking for:
-Over 30x
-glass on par or better than SIII
Whats not necessary:
-illumination
-ability to withstand magnum
-side focus
-Variable magnification
This will be strictly for target and will not be mounted on any magnum or heavy recoiling rifles. It must have repeatable turrets but they dont have to have the great feel I would expect in most other applications, it will not be used in any time sensitive situations.
If possible I would like the money dedicated toward glass, magnification and repeatability.
* I might entertain a slightly lower power if there is a major advantage in glass available.
Ive seen that Leupold has a Competition line of high power fixed scopes but have heard mixed feelings.
Im also aware of the 2 Nightforce BR models as well as this years model (out of my budget I believe. I havent seen or heard anything major to choose the original BR over the Sightron.
Again, all suggestions and opinions welcome.
Thanks guys-
