So, Im in the market for a couple new scopes but I wanted to check some other opinions before I make one of my decisions. I would appreciate any suggestions around $1,500

Ive been pretty set on buying a Sightron SIII 10-50x60mm. I already own the 8-32x56mm with the LRMOA-2 reticle (that im quite happy with) so im really not looking for anything under 32x.

Im open to the idea of fixed magnification and will be taking that into consideration as well. Im also flexible with regard to the reticle, I wouldnt mind a nice target style or crosshair design but im not limiting it.

What im looking for:
-Over 30x
-glass on par or better than SIII

Whats not necessary:
-illumination
-ability to withstand magnum
-side focus
-Variable magnification

This will be strictly for target and will not be mounted on any magnum or heavy recoiling rifles. It must have repeatable turrets but they dont have to have the great feel I would expect in most other applications, it will not be used in any time sensitive situations.

If possible I would like the money dedicated toward glass, magnification and repeatability.

* I might entertain a slightly lower power if there is a major advantage in glass available.

Ive seen that Leupold has a Competition line of high power fixed scopes but have heard mixed feelings.
Im also aware of the 2 Nightforce BR models as well as this years model (out of my budget I believe. I havent seen or heard anything major to choose the original BR over the Sightron.

Again, all suggestions and opinions welcome.

Thanks guys-

I took a look at March's fixed BR models. They look like the 40, 50, and 60x are coming in about $2,100. They are all 52mm and seem to have a plethora of rericles. Thats a bit more than I was planning on spending. Ive read great things about their long erector variable lines.

Anyone have experience with these? Are they worth the difference from Nightforce and Sightron? Any other manufacturer or model they could be compared to? Ive never come accross one before, only from what ive read on here.

Thanks again-

I was going to bump this to the top for you as I'd like to see some input too. I'm in the market for another Sightron, for a target only rifle, with a budget of about 1k. No FFP, no ranging reticle, no need for crazy toughness, etc.
But high mag and good glass. Very similar to your post!

^^ Thanks for the bump, here's a few of the scopes I was looking at. I can't seem to find anything else in between this ~$1,000 offering from couple manufacturers to the $2,000 jump. I'm sure there's a significant difference but wonder if there's anything else or it's really necessary spending that much extra.

I haven't a clue how much this new Competition Nightforce cost. Has it reached the market yet? Anyone seen it?

These are the line of March scopes, again there a bit more than I was looking to spend but curious if anyone has experience with this fixed power line.

Lastly, the 10-50x60 SIII

Aside from the original NF Benchrest, is there anything else worth considering in this category? $1,000-$2,000... Hopefully closer to the middle.

Bump for info. Any experience with the ones listed in post or suggestions would be much appreciated. I know this group of scopes is not the norm here, it's not for me either (new area for me). Even BR discussions elsewhere cover these are few and far in between.

Thanks again-
