Consider "home carry" as a part of lifestyle.

If you don't have kids, at least have a pistol available in the room you're occupying.

Sounds like you need dune coon type tall walls with broken glass and nails mixed in on top

I’d do boards with nails or something on my side of the fence all around the inside

Maybe 4x8 sheets of metal with nails tack welded to them that you lay down at night and lean against fence during the day
