i lived in a poor (crip) neighborhood to save money, and used to hang out with the neighbors in the garages in front of the apt complex that faced the sidewalk and street, drinking heineken and hennessy while we narrated the happenings of the neighborhood.
anyway, one of my neighbors had parents that are both deaf, and he was teaching me sign language.
so at work, there is a beautiful girl that is way out of my league, even if i had game, which i didn't.
thinking she would not know what i was signing, i signed that she was a beautiful girl and i wanted to make love to her.
yup, that is how pitiful i was (am), lol.
and she started signing back.
and she wasn't mad. ?
our daughter is now 25 and getting her masters.

Now this is crazy, I met my wife at a club, we hung out had a few drinks I drove her home, she gives me her phone number I write it on a map.
I call days later in the evening no answer, call during the day it is a business. Ok so she gave me a BS number.
About a year later I meet this girl we hang she gives me her number. While in bed that night I am thinking man she looked familiar.
It hits me, was it the same girl I previously met? I get dressed walk to my car find the map look at the phone number on the map it is the same number.
I am like holy shit when I drove her home the first time I never realized she lived in a different area code and I never wrote it down the second time I wrote the area code down.

Casual work acquaintances for years. Ran into her at the daycare my daughter went to one evening after not seeing her for a few months at work. She had gotten divorced and had a new job. We got the kids together for playdates and fun. We were nothing more than friends.
Another couple years later I ended up divorced (ex is a bitch and whore) and our kids were attending Taekwondo together.
Asked an innocent question about parenting as a divorced parent.
My only wish is I had started spending my life her sooner. Spent a lot of life being a goofball and living wild.
I love her heart, her mind, and her goodness. The smokin hot part doesnt hurt my feelings either.....

We were both in college, but didn't know each other. We both came from a small town on the county line. I am talking unincorporated, one church, coop and handful of houses small. Town was so small everyone was related to each other. How we got together and neither family was related to the rest of the town is beyond me. Her dad was a superintendent across the county line and she was two years older. Therefore I didn't know she was even alive.
That summer my dad talked her dad into driving the combine for us during harvest. She was in summer school and decided to come see him at the field. The poor guy didn't have a choice. He had to introduce us. I was the nastiest of nasty that day. My first reaction was WOW! She is way out of my league.
Later that fall I found out she was a little intrested in me. So I called her and we went out. We are at Cattlemen's that evening. The next day I had the worst case food poisoning ever. I am talking dried out both ways probably should have had IV's. I wondered if it was an omen.
We been married 22 years and have 3 boys. She is wonderful. I am blessed and thank for her everyday.

Met mine at work; I was the assistant controller. Overheard her talking to one of the dumbass owners of the company, he was asking her for an Excel solution that there was no way in hell she, or most people, could deliver.
Jumped into the conversation, put together the worksheet. Evidently impressed her with my badass Excel, accounting and tax skills and married her 9 months later.

She worked with my brother, her daughter baby set his kids. Her and a co worker came to the city I lived in for a conference, and we all went out to dinner. That was 1993, we got together for a few years, and have been married for 22 years now........a good woman.
I tried multiple dating sites and dated half a dozen nurses. Got off of all but one site and figured this is it and cancelled my last subscription. A month later I looked at my bank statement and a charge stood out. I remembered the amount and logged back on to cancel the subscription again.. There was a like sent to me. We talked for a couple of weeks and went to see Star Trek on a first date. Been married a hair over 5.5 years. I tell her I got the best of this deal, she laughs and says I don`t think so. She resigned her commission and got out of the Army to marry me (I have an extraordinarily large...umm...sense of humor). I tried to impress her by earning three college degrees. LOL. Haven't used a friggin one of them either! Seven years of school and an exhausted G.I. Bill later and I'm running cattle, curssing at cows on the daily.
She's my everything though. I'd gladly go though another seven years of college if it meant I got to keep her around. However, it simply takes a good "pee pee dance" to bring a smile to her face. Photo us from a Christmas Party this year.

I asked her over and she did. Whilst driving to my place she had hit a lot of traffic jams. Her first words: “Hi, do you got coffee??” And so it started.....
at that time she was shooting Glocks and .30m1 carbines, that’s how I got interested in shooting ( this sounds odd, but we live in the Netherlands, so different laws and regulations towardsgun ownership apply )
8 years later we got married, which is currently lasting 2.5 years and I expect more to come.

Made for TV movie. I was paralyzed below the waist in a Para-gliding accident. After about a year I had recovered enough that the doctors said I could ski. I found that after about two runs I was exhausted and couldn't justify a ski ticket. I volunteered to be be an instructor in the handicapped ski program at Eldora mountain in Colorado. I could help kids and ski for free. It was there I met my wife, who was also an instructor. In a true "it's a small world" verification, I discovered her father was a retired Sergeant Major from 10th Special Forces Group. Not only that, but her sister had married an SF guy. It turned out that he was on the Mountain Team in Bad Toelz, and I was on the Mountain Team in Ft. Devens. His former team mate had been my team Sergeant. Married 28 years.
She pretends that she's unimpressed and that I'm being immature. But I know better...
Definitely hard to find a wife nowadays especially if you have no sisters to date ......

True story. She was pulling 5-10 for armed robbery in the Federal Bureau of Prisons. I was one of the guards (excused me, corrections officers) at that unit/prison.
Actually, she was a teacher and I was a guard. We both got the heck out of Dodge (prison) a little over a year later and the rest is history. Married in 1982. No breaks in service--yet. Both retired. Two good grown kids and two small worthless/spoiled dogs. But, they are our worthless dogs. ? God has truly blessed me.

I met my Squaw in Limon, Colo. around 73 when she was going to" Chuck' Place," the only 3.2 bar in Limon, pop 1700 and that is giving it some and the only place in town for people to meet. Pool Hall and 3.2 Tavern. Nice tables, 3 Snooker and 1 Reg. 9 ball. and room to shuffle.
I saw this fine assed, lithe, small rack Doe, Filly, headed in and had been watching for her for a while with lots of sightings, but no contact.
Up on top of the hill to the West I was showing the local Vet Dr. this new bike that I had. he rode a Norton 750 Commando, It was a Matchless G80S 500 ccs of Thumper that I had.
I saw the Young Lady I had my eye on and told the Dr. I had to go, so we primed the Amal Carb. and he pushed me off down the highway, whereupon that Matchless came to life and so did I.
Running good on the Bike, I pulled up next to Chucks as she was going up the steps and yelled out at her over the sound of the Bike,
"Hey SweetCheeks, get on this Bike with me."
I was astounded when she came off of those steps and got on the Bike with me.
We took a good ride and I was being extra nice to not scare her, but at the last leg of the ride my Flattrack vibes went in and a bit of sideways fast was in order.
I gave her tickets to the next race I was riding and she and her BFF, now dead, came up and watched me ride, where I did well and collected cash, I was hot that night but it had nothing to do with her. I was running for the fun and the$$.
When I next saw her a week or 2 later she informed me that I was Crazy, but she would go along, so we Shacked up and I rode Flattrack and Snowmobils for a year or 3 then she cooled my jets. Informed me that we had a Baby coming on.
We had been Married for 2 years but it was still a shock to me.
Now we have been Shacked Up for a few years and Married for many more. 46 long years Married, but Shackin Up counts too.
I have 2 sons and a daughter that are very much shooters and very well orientated in this world.
1 LEO, 1 Nurse going on a Degree higher and about there and 1 Pilot that can fly anything with wings.
All have had spankings but the best thing has been Cod Liver Oil and hold that under your tongue until you can start acting right.

It snowed one weekend when I was a senior in high school. Me and a couple of buddies were hanging out on the main drag where all of the kids rode around and were throwing snow at any attractive girls that happened to drive by. Her and a friend got hit and they came back around and stopped to talk. She said what would it take for you to quit throwing snow at us? I said how about going to get a coke? We were married 10 months later.
That was 44 years, 2 Successful Sons and 5 Great Grandkids ago. I still pat her on the ass if she is standing in the kitchen in her housecoat and she still laughs or giggles. Oh yeah, She is red headed! Smart, kind, loving, loyal and she still looks ok! She must have missed the crazy gene cause I'm sure I would have brought it out!

I find this thread kind of interesting. I'm not the type to "date" much at all, every "date" I've ever had was boring as shitting hell. Seems that a lot of folks here met their better half by chance, that's somewhat reassuring.
I was actually engaged once, but I fucked it up. She went into a spiral after that, never forgave myself really, even though the next girl I loved roundabout got me back for it. Now I just don't care and it seems like work to me. I don't even get lonely about it at all, it's kind of weird.

Met my wife at church. Now the backstory.
When I was 19 years old, my mother and father came home from cleaning their church and my mother said she met the cutest girl for me. I blew it off as my mom just wanting to me to stop going out to bars and picking up bar tramps (this back when the legal age was 18). Fast forward to Mother's day of the next year. I was laid off from work , so I told my mom I'd go to church with my parents as her gift. I walked in and sat with them and when the service was over, I'd started for the door. But then I looked over towards a group of teenagers and there was a cutie pie I had to meet.
Long story short, that was the girl my mom wanted me to meet. I married the girl of my MOTHER'S dreams for me. We have now been married 34+ years and have 4 kids and 1 grandchild. I wouldn't have had it any other way.
When I was 19 years old, my mother and father came home from cleaning their church and my mother said she met the cutest girl for me. I blew it off as my mom just wanting to me to stop going out to bars and picking up bar tramps (this back when the legal age was 18). Fast forward to Mother's day of the next year. I was laid off from work , so I told my mom I'd go to church with my parents as her gift. I walked in and sat with them and when the service was over, I'd started for the door. But then I looked over towards a group of teenagers and there was a cutie pie I had to meet.
Long story short, that was the girl my mom wanted me to meet. I married the girl of my MOTHER'S dreams for me. We have now been married 34+ years and have 4 kids and 1 grandchild. I wouldn't have had it any other way.

She met my 3 sisters, and my parents liked her. Went on 3 dates (2nd was shooting). After that she wanted to date. I still wanted to go on a church mission so I told I loved her like a sister.
After that I dated another girl for awhile while my she was around as a 5th wheel in our group of friends. She was not a fan of that. She moved to Eastern Washington in 10 to go be with her parents to prepare for her mission. We both went on missions (me SE Idaho, her eastern Wyoming and Fargo).
After that she went to college in Idaho and eventually broke up with her bf and called me. Turns out she was always comparing other guys to me. We played a board game over Google Hangouts and started talking. Between March and Aug 15 160 hrs talking. SH convinced me to move to Utah summer 15 when we started dating. I proposed in October mentioning I was going to have to sister zone her again. She was not a fan of that but what I meant is will she become my Sister Lefty. (In church parlance men are brother last name and women are sister last name). We got married Feb 27 2016.
Turns out my dad knew she belonged in the family since 09 but couldn't tell me that. He encouraged what turned into the board game. She also told my mom that she would marry me to have my parents as in-laws. Yes she won the better in-laws and she agrees.

Met my wife at the lake a buddy of mine docked his boat at. We were practicing and prepping the boat for the May Day Regatta (sail Boat race) that was Sat- Mon. My ex had been trying to get us together for a while. My buddy and I invited them out to go sailing and have a few drinks. She didn't say much that night but I got her number and called her a few days later, we have been together ever since. Been married 15 years and together for 18. Got 3 wonderful kids and a better life than I could have expected.

My future Wife moved in two doors down Mt. Prospect Avenue in Newark, NJ about the time I was 18. Celia was the oldest of four Sister, and was born in Germany.
I was drafted the next year (1966) and hadn't gotten to the point of asking her out.
