If you think that NICS files are ever destroyed, you are wrong. They are supposed to be, but I can say from experience that they are not. During my time in LE I was assigned to a fed agency. In a pinch, the agency could come up with the last transaction of that firearm that involved a NICS check.
Those that shirk their civic duty is how we got here in the first place. I have nothing but contempt for those that do it just to (1) either make more money or (2) try to get over on the system. That type of person is the bane of this country, thinking they are too good to do something as simple as jury duty. If you want the dregs of this country deciding your fate keep that train of thought.

I think you'll find that mostly it's a combination of:
Mostly: Neither of the sides actually wants jurors that are a bit too smart and will call them on BS like "The Defendant had 3000 Micrograms of marijuana on them!!!!!" Both sides want folks that mostly will just hear their emotional appeals.
Partially: Anyone productive and working for a living can ill afford to spend several months having a negative income (usually jury duty pay is less than the cost of parking for the day, let alone add in transport costs, getting something to eat (if the judge ever allows you to do so)), so that the lawyers on both sides can drag things out for maximum billable hours, while putting up with evil judges with some god complex that think they can lord it over juries as their personal slaves and subjects, constitution be damned. Bills don't stop just because some idiot lawyers want to keep the jury going for a couple months.
Then the real game is simply to get the trial done so you can go to the Appeals court which is where all the fun actually happens and the lawyers on both sides get to show off how much money they are worth.
I was saying most want out of Jury duty so as to make more money at their day job. I have nothing but contempt for those who think getting out of jury duty is funny. Most in this country are never ask to do anything for it past taxes, yet they want to enjoy all the fruits w/o lifting a finger,...

I've been called to jury duty several times but never had to do much, I doubt I'll ever get picked for a jury as I'm a bit opinionated about right and wrong so one side or the other will probably not want me after they find out my opinions on the "Justice Involved Person" during questioning.
But if they happen to want me by some miracle, well I'm going to do my best job at it to make sure justice is done correctly.
I hear what you are saying, but there are some patriotic older people who work or did work for a living that acknowledge that it is their civic duty who do not try to get out of it. I’ll take my chances on at least one of the 12 any day before I plead out to a crooked ass judge!
When people are money driven to get out of their civic duty, that is almost always do to wants, over needs spending. If someone could not take off a month or two w/o loosing everything, one needs to rethink their life, or lack thereoff to that point. The issue with most is instead of doing whats right, they take the convenience road everytime, which in the long run is a dead in road. To tell you the truth I would prefer that kind not be on a jury in the first place.
If you are reading this thread, they know who you are lol. I would expect about 1/3 of the states to quickly pass laws to make it illegal to confiscate the ARs, for federal enforcement agencies to do XYZ needed for such confiscation, etc and setup a stalemate between the Federal government and the States. I know this is the internet and everyone needs to get their panties in a wad, but it may end up being pretty anticlimactic- much like the disagreement over marijuana laws.
People will slowly move and continue to naturally divide by states. Hint- if pot is currently 'legal' in your state, you are probably going to have to move to keep your AR legally. Everyone wants to ban what they dont like themselves on both sides. What happens far down the road after the states have continue to split is anyones guess though. Then again, all it takes is one solid SCOTUS decision to quell (or pour gas on) a lot of this.

Yea cause all felons spend the kind of money it takes for a good fake ID instead of just buying a “throwaway” gun from their local drug dealer. In my State there are entire counties declaring themselves as 2A Sanctuary Counties - they are telling the State and The Feds that they will not enforce unconstitutional laws pertaining to infringing on 2A Rights. This will be interesting if they expect LE to go door to door in my County and get my firearms.
