I built this rifle a couple months ago and only had 9 rounds through it prior to this morning breaking it in. It's been so hot for the last month or so I hadn't shot it for over a month. Breaking it in I shot 88 and 89grs of H-1000 with a 300gr SMK and wasn't overly impressed with the accuracy. It finally cooled off a bit overnight so I clean it last night and took the remaining 11 rounds I had loaded out to the desert. I had 1 round of 89grs of H-1000 and 5 each of 90grs and 91grs. The larger group is 6 shots with the 1 89gr load for a fouler and the 5 90gr rounds. The smaller group is 4 rounds with 91grs (.282"). I kept the 1 round to chronograph and then realized I forgot my tripod for my chronograph. These 2 groups consist of rounds 9-19 out of this barrel.
It's a Remington 700 SS action with just the lugs lapped (no other truing), a Krieger 9.35" twist 1.25" for 10" and then straight taper to 1" at the muzzle, Jewell trigger, HS stock, Leupold 6.5x20, and one of my brakes. I did all the gunsmithing myself.
