My cousin was going through some ammo left from my great uncle and we've come across a couple dozen loose rounds and we're not sure of the caliber. So hopefully you guys can give us an idea of what it is.
In the pictures its the cartridge on the right, there's a 168 gr. 308 on the left in both pictures.
The round in question has a 'green' primer. The headstamp reads: 1940 // F A M M A P
It's slightly larger in diameter than a 308 case with a slightly longer cartridge and a shallower neck. The bullet is cannulered soft point.
