IMR 4166 powder?

cornhusker,

I'm using 25.4gr. of 4166 behind the Sierra 53gr. HP match bullet. I haven't chronoed it yet but it yields .5 at 100yds for me. I've shot it with a 40 degree temperature swing at 200yds and all groups landed exactly where they should have. Hope this helps.

I worked up a load with some 4166 pushing some 178 Amax out of my .308. The node I found with comparable velocity to my tried and true 4064 load was rather narrow and unforgiving.

Finally got to the range this morning while the wind was fairly calm...The 4166 seemed to be a good powder in my 223 with the 69 gr sierra match bullets.
Only shot at 100 yards and had 1 inch or less 5 shot groups..Smalled was 3/4 inch. But I am looking for a bug hole so it will do better at 300. I am sure with some twinking
It should work well...I want to try the same powder with some 77 and 80 grain bullets to see how well they might perform at 500 yards...
