The United States threatened Monday to arrest and sanction judges and other officials of the International Criminal Court if it moves to charge any American who served in Afghanistan with war crimes.

Can't even imagine what Obama's admin would be saying.

I guess part of the issue is there were some people tortured by the CIA guys who wound up dead and a lot of stuff done under the table by the CIA on behalf of our government. Quite a few other of our Allies were involved in some suspicious activity with the whole CIA plan to kidnap, transport and torture people all around the globe if we felt it necessary and when it got exposed that they were in on it despite them publicly denying it, they now had to go find a way to try to wash their hands of it by making a big stink about it being all our fault.

I'm not totally sure if it makes any difference what the ICC does, it's kind of a Victor's justice kangaroo court that only applies if you sign up to agree to be subject to them. I seriously doubt anybody wants to try playing the kidnapping and renditioning game against us openly so even if they get upset at some Americans, good luck sending anything more than a sternly written paper.

People die in war . This isn't trenches full of innocents . These were/are battle hardened extremists . They use villages , hospitals , schools and whatever they can hide behind to kil US servicemen and civilians . My biggest concern is how long it takes for the commi shitbags in DC to start calling for the heads of our Warriors .

Russians didn't sign up to be in the ICC so similar thing there.
However with the Russians and assassinations, the English don't have any part in it that they have been exposed to. So they can do the standard yelling and screaming and diplomatic sanctions & other demands that are normal to do.

In the CIA case, there was a LOT of our allies and friends involved in letting kidnappings happen, providing information or logistics for them, or letting there be secret torture prisons on their soil, or letting there be landings & overflights, so they can't actually afford to go out publicly, diplomatically and say anything lest the CIA actually dump the documents of everybody being involved, so they shunt it off to the ICC as they know it will be smoke and fury & nothing changing (including their own ongoing levels of help).
