Kalashnksvs... I need attention thread/roast/ stop derailing others peoples threads.

My brother had married his first wife and moved to New Hampshire to live with her. They had a child (now grown with a kid of her own) and later got divorced.

Then, he married a woman from Maine and moved up there (about an hour and half away from Bangor.) They later divorced. But when they were still married, I was talking with her and she was tired of the heat because it got up to the 80s one day the summer.

I said, "Well, here in Texas, we get days and weeks of 100 degrees or more. We call that "August.""

She said, " I won't visit in August."

Fair enough.

Now, my brother is married again, this time, to a woman from England. He has even been over there to visit her family. So, at least he is prepared for the weather.
I've spent a lot of time in Northern British Columbia hunting with a guide/outfitter up there. Spring ( late May, early June) bear hunts when the temps start hitting 80 he just about dies, where I think it's great. Flipside is he can handle real cold way better than me. The temps and snow in his guide area are fkng cold in the winter.
Spent a week in England last May. In Bath , west of London. It gets into 70's and they think it's hot. Pretty area. One thing my wife noticed was there were not any screens anywhere. Not on windows or doors. So we asked someone about that, their response " it doesn't get warm enough or long enough to have to deal with flying bugs or insects"

The REAL danger will come around Friday or so when the polar front starts to withdraw. Warmer air along the boundary line will spawn a swath of rain and mixed precip that will cover most of the eastern half of the country. That rain is going to fall on blacktop and concrete that is still around 10°F ambient which means instant ice skating rink. Also if the returning southern airmass is above 40°F and it will be for most places, that is going to produce dense fog as it contacts the still chilled surface. Driving and moving around carefully must be emphasized.

actually useful info for us semi-tropical types.

So, can someone else translate what he means aboot the quoted line above? I know there are quite a few here who still think there should be some federal level agencies(I think that’s silly, but I digress) but I wouldn’t call them commies.

Hmmmm....way far north of the Arctic Circle, from personal experience, the mosquitos are so plentiful and hungry that I am fairly certain that an unprotected human might need to carry around a bag of plasma plugged in. And HUGE green headed flies that will just annoy the ever loving shit out of you.

You know where there are real few flying insects? The deepest gorge in North America and the second deepest gorge in North America.

forcast is not showing any more precipitation after today. Melting and re freezing is definitely a potential issue though.

The flys and mosquitos I've encountered in Northern British Columbia and parts of Alaska in their late spring/early summer are horrible. So I was surprised by the answer we got in England, but they don't really get much above 70 is what we were told and maybe that has something to do with it. I'll have to look at a map and check the latitude of England vs those 2 areas.

Looks like the polar mass seems to be already withdrawing for your region and the rest of the Deep South, that snow being part of the warm front creeping back in. We in the Northeast are going to be in it's grip until late Saturday with some snow and rain headed our way. It's a gradual return to normal, compared to some previous years where we would be seeing mid-50s and low 60s after 2 straight weeks of single digits and that ground hugging fog at night plus the glow of the white LED streetlights made you feel like you are in a black and white 1930s gangster movie LOL...

OH MY...

HAHAHAHAHA!!!

I didn't mean to make you feel bad, really. I'm just discussing topics on a discussion board.

I must admit to you though that seeing this thread made a thrill run up my leg before I even clicked the link.

Since you went into my post history, I'm sure you can see that I've never been a troll, and have only either asked questions or provided helpful information to folks who were lost. Is this what the trolling feels like though?

Anyway, do me a favor- every single one of you Little-Red-Book carrying, America-hating Commie SOBs:

Swear to me right now that you won't!

Methinks thou hast read the room incorrectly. This thread was not started because you upset someone. This was to start a feeding frenzy of memes and verbal jousts and the anticipation is that you would join and do exactly what you are doing.

And that is to try and win by debate and passive aggressive condescension. It is doomed to failure.

We still laugh at fart jokes here. Then, again, fart jokes win every time.

And yes, I have been on the receiving end of some roasts. And so I reflected upon my actions and comments and read a bit more and lived and learned.

There are even times when I look back and see something that I wrote that was so bass-ackwards that I Billy Madison'd myself ("Everyone in this room is now dumber from having heard it. I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul.")

Part of what helped me, and this may be hard for you, is that I can laugh at myself. Make fun of myself. My first post in the intro section is where I said I would be the stupidest one here and a few times, I have lived up to that claim.

Other times, I look really smart when I keep my mouth shut.

But I have to laugh and so, I try bring in memes that fit, maybe lob over a piquant bon mot.

IOW, laugh, have fun, don't let it get to you. But realize this is one of those situations where it doesn't matter which way you step, you will step on your own dick, as me and work buddies used to say.

Definitely a different feel around here with snow flurries. I walked about 3 miles in it today just enjoying it. Totally different feel than normal here. Glad I kept my snowboarding gear, nice, warm and dry.

I’m going to reply with this one thing-I’m most definitely not a commie, even if I did vote for Trump🤣

Now you're getting the hang of it...........just sit back and enjoy the show . Throw in a😂 when you're entertained and watch the howler monkeys stomp pee pee. They are quite talented at what they do. Granted , I've witnessed better stomps in the past ,than this one has been so far , but the night is yet young.......there is still a chance this thread makes to " epic " classification.

Mods- can we merge this thread with the other one so that these barely literate forgotten-men-and-women can write POOP and FAG to each other?

This one sent a thrill up my leg before it got dumb, but the other one is just DOA- I'm not feeling it.

Thanks. :)
