So I just picked one of these up and love it so far. One question, does it have the capability on a single target screen to give live wind and range if the kestrel is on a weather vane tripod and I measure a new distance with the range finder?? Or do I need to manually enter the target distance in the kestrel each time?

Yes, I believe that's how it should work. The single target screen should mirror the current solution on the kestrel. So turn on live weather and then lase a target, that solution should be pushed to the HUD.

Yes, your LRF should send the range to the kestrel which then relays it to the HUD. As mentioned if you put the Kestrel in LIVE mode and put it in the vane mount it will feed continuous wind data to the HUD. One thing though is unless you are using a LRF that also feeds the Kestrel the DOF it will stay at whatever value you originally set it.
You can also manually input the range via the arrow buttons just FYI.
