Rifle Scopes Leica CRF 1600 Cabela's 4day sale

I dont mean to step on any toes....but I thought it worth mentioning that Cabela's has the Leica CRF 1600 in their 4 day sale (from April 15 - 18th) for $549 - free shipping. I know Alex has them on sale currently, and I thought about not posting this actually, but this is a pretty limited time and an additional $100 off....if anyone has been contemplating this one. I just happened across it while I was looking for some add'l general info on them. I am not interested in the ballistics - but want it for the glass, incline, atmospheric info, and HOPFULLY the capabilities (I know some here have had issues with the ranging beyond 800 - although others mention it was likely a bad unit). Talked to David at Leica and c.s. seems very good if it doesnt meet expectations. I have one on the way so we'll see. I think at that price it's worth trying out IMHO.

And I'm going to slowly back away from this thread. I just need to keep telling myself my Leica 1200 is just fine. Yep, I've gotta slowly walk away. You guys just kill my savings account. ha-ha

HAHA sorry man...been contemplating this for some time and pulled the trigger finally. Guess I am willing to give it a try for $550 since Leica seems to want to stand behind the product, so we'll see. Although I wouldnt think I'd spend the money if I already had a 1200. My only hesitation was that Alex is listing them here too and I didnt really want to step on his balls - but it seems to be a pretty limited 4 day sale so I thought I'd let the Hide know just in case anyone was on the fence - like I was.

That's the CRF 1000 on sale, NOT the CRF 1600.

I got one before they sold out. I used my Cabela bucks and free shipping. I was going to get the new 1600B but once it dropped to 549.99, my son and I decided the new features may not be worth the different for us.

It was the 1600 on sale. I just received one for a buddy and did some testing already. I was getting grass and dirt hills from 1400-1650 yards. I had some first attempt readings at the side of a house at 1775 and 1834. It looks like this one is good to go!

Confirm it was the 1600. Tracking says mine will be here tomorrow. Hopefully I get similar results as Scot E seeing as its rec'd a few bad notes on here.

I guess I missed this when I was reading about the specs but unless I am missing something still, this unit only gives the line of sight angle in degrees but doesn't give you the corrected yardage based on the angle.

Not a big deal but I am a bit surprised seeing that this feature has been out for a number of years now.
