No, they aren't the same and if you're too mentally challenged to see the difference then I can't help you.
It's no secret that I'm not a fan of people using a dremel and a plastic toy mated to a firearm which is why I practice what I preach and went with a Rem 40XB in a real AICS to mimic my centerfire. However, I am not blind to the fact that many do not have the means (or the spousal permission) to drop $2k+ without optics on a rimfire trainer. So I do see a value on AI shooters modifying airsoft bodies to use as a trainer with close to correct dimensions for muscle memory. I also see value in the purpose built .22 AR style rifles as well as the .22 conversions (such as Rinky posted) for the same reasons. "Deacons" toys are not trainers; they are not real works of art like a few true conversions that have been posted (some of the AI chassis conversions, an all metal SAW, etc... come to mind immediately - do a search for that SAW Rinky, it is bad ass) and I'm doubting that the plastic, sloppy JB Weld and dremeled toys are safe and they definitely do not increase accuracy or help with any type of "training" since he doesn't own any of the "real" weapons his barbie dolls are based off. So your "adapt and overcome" comment holds zero water.
Snipers Hide is for "The Serious Tactical Marksman" who is striving to shoot better. Defcon is neither serious, tactical or a marksman. He is a powder burner who likes to impress the camo-wearing teenagers at whatever the hell range he goes to. I will definitely not "let the little boy be" - he should be posting his crap on
www.ImAMallNinja.com/forums not in a precision based forum.
is that why your panties are all up in a bunch because you think theyre made of $20 cheap plastic? so you belittle me because i dont own a $1k - $2k milling/lathe machine to do my conversions. $40 dremel can do a lot of things. JB weld is nothing. It can be sanded down, painted over and/or reapplied. Big deal. The .22 action is secure, tight and safe.
why do you keep insisting im building these as trainer rifles? theyre NOT trainers. theyre just simple mall ninja tacticool fun rifles for plinking. i can easily turn some of these conversions into precision rifles just like those AICS builds. those .22 AICS builds are no different than my builds. plastic is plastic. metal is metal. i picked up my balls and took the risk a step further on builds that havent been done before.
have you ever held/felt the airsoft versions in person of a Barrett M82, M99, M200 Cheytac, SAW, M60 PIG, M14 EBR, M60E4, BAR, L85? im really interested in your answer. if not, go visit a local airsoft store and check it out. theyre not made of $20 cheap plastic you see at walmart. they all retail more than $300-$400 a piece. more than half of my conversions are made of FULL METAL and weigh more than 10lbs. Barrett M82 weighs 13lbs. Barrett M99 weighs 15lbs. Cheytac weighs 17lbs. My 2 SAW's, M60 PIG, M60E4, M14 EBR weighs over 10lbs. The plastic versions that I do have are the SAME plastic skin on the WELLS G96 AICS which are thick and decent, yet i dont see you giving them shit.
i live in Commiefornia where Feinstein and our shitless senators ban shit because of cosmetic evil features. there are plenty of guns Californians cannot own. just put yourself in my shoes looking down on a list of centerfire rifles we cant own due to the 1994 assault weapons ban. you wouldnt want to live in our state. ill tell you right now i cant afford a real $7k Barrett, $10k Cheytac, $60k M60 PIG, $30k SAW, $5k BAR, or any other high ticket NFA items which is why i make these dream rifles of centerfire clones using the closest 1:1 scale airsoft replica (preferrably in full metal). i dont have to put up with that AWB list and i dont have to spend a fortune if i just want the feel/look of the real centerfire and get the benefit of shooting a rimfire caliber.
the past month ive been shooting at 200-300 yard steel targets with these airsoft conversions so dont assume that im not serious about precision. im sure you dont want to believe it but i am working on precision and its fun trying to nail those 200+ yard long distance targets with a .22.
i have a real AR15 and Saiga 12 for now and i barely shoot them because im having way more tacticool mall ninja fun with my .22's. btw, i get more dads with their young kids wanting to shoot my airsoft conversion and i bring in new and scared first time shooters with these .22 conversions to the range and help support our 2A. i even get police officers, a sheriff, veterans and active military come up to me with great reactions because it reminds them of their service rifle. more positive stuff and thanks i get in person from these people than the shit i get on the internet.
