Saw a thread earlier today where someone mentioned they felt like many custom actions these days are running lighter springs for a softer bolt lift.

I ended up dropping a Premier bolt into my B14 HMR because I had an older one and was cratering primers on moderate loads because the original firing pin hole was too big. I didn’t wanna wait for a bushing job, and the Premiers were on the shelf and fixed my problem, plus they bring toolless takedown to the table which I vastly prefer.

But, I feel like I immediately noticed a much stiffer bolt lift, so bad it sometimes even moves my bipod cant (Atlas with podlok cranked down pretty stiff).

Has anyone heard of an aftermarket spring to lighten up the B14 Premier bolt lift while still providing reliable and consistent ignition?

Heres a link to a video (video links to exact moment in video) of me running a hmr pro bolt with one finger. Very light, easy to run bolt. Sounds like something is up with yours.

Hmm, ok, good to know. Anyone have any thoughts? Am I just in gunsmith territory now?

Running a TT Special adjusted to about 1.5 lbs, if that’s important info.

I do believe bergara didn't recommend Tt triggers on the standard b14, but okay on the premier?
I dunno, I can’t recall. I know there were recommendations against light trigger weights on normal triggers due to safety, but I don’t think they applied to the TT triggers since you still get full seat engagement with the FRT design.

Also, the HMR Pro comes with a Primary, I think.

Found this old thread that discusses some of that, but doesn’t help me, sadly:
