The MIAD grip fits, but you need there "gapper" to fill the void between the grip and the lower, On another note I cant get any surplus ammo to group for shit, Radway is aprox 4 moa, S&B the same, South African worse at 5moa. Hornady A-Max 168 gr.is 1 moa and Federal 168 gr SMK's are also 1moa.

So for a fix for the loose FCG holes, anybody know the diameter on the pins? I can't locate my calipers right now, but if they are the standard .154, I would think the KNS .155 secured pins might be a fix? I haven't even called LMT yet, because I probably will not be a very nice customer if they expect me to ship them the gun(from a dealer or not) on my dime and then want me to pay return shipping and another transfer as well for a problem they created on a 2000+ dollar rifle. If they have a brain they will get on this problem and try to make it right before the MWS gets a bad rap in the private sector. I'll bet the Brits aren't getting rifles with oversized FCG holes....

had to get a muzzlebrake, recoil is reduce dramatically, you can further reduce recoil by adding A2 or PRS stock (full lenght). I'm going to add the stock as this gun really likes heavy bullets, haven't tried 168gr but 175gr is sub MOA, Still in testing, getting subMOA with 44.5gr to 45gr of Varget...

Rounds were shot single with bullet alreadun in chamber and bolt was released in retracted position. All were 5 round groups.175gr Nosler Competition

Would love to know your FPS if you get a chance. Everything I have seen says the 175's are the ticket. I will try them and the 178 AMAX's when mine comes in.

By the way my oversize Geislee pin that is .1558 slops around I have to say the hole in the lmt lower is probably in the range of .1565 and not anywhere near what it should be (.1553).

Way far away from you at 17x. I bet someone put the wrong drill bit in the chuck or cnc machine. I wonder if they mic the bit or just go by what it says on the side? Maybe the head had some vibration in it and wobbled the hole larger?

My serial number is in the 27xxx range. So there are either a lot of rifles out there with the problem, or the guy drilling the FCG holes has a bad day on Mondays. Either way, LMT has a problem.

Mine does not appear to have the issue with FCG holes but it is later production than yours. Also I have seen a few people mention that they have the new BCG, what are the differences between the new and old BCG?

What is the issue? Well the issue is that the right side of the trigger pin is unsupported. This allows for the trigger to pivot side to side slightly and places more stress on the left side trigger pin hole.

For example, on an AR15 I can slide the trigger side to side a hair, but I can not tilt it side to side. On my MWS, the trigger tilts side to side.

This issue could result in many problems. One the trigger pin may come out more easily when the rifle is in use. Also because the pin can wobble, it may cause the left side hole to egg out.

OK. Yeah I would say mine is NOT tilting, only moving in and out, not laterally(egg direction). My serial is in the 1003XX range.

Check all your other AR's. It's commen that there is some clearance in the trigger pin holes.

In 4 AR15 lowers (including LMT) there is no tilt in the pins. Clearance is one thing, but to allow movement is another.

Mine is pretty sloppy too. A lot more slop than my Colts and my Noveske. Prolly the reason the trigger pull feels a little funny to me. I'm going to call them tomorrow and see what they say.

I dunno, I wonder if they consider this normal. Anyways mine is enroute to them for inspection.

On a side note, if they decide the lower needs replacement, they will not send the replacement to you. You will have to have it sent to a dealer and pay any applicable transfer fees.

Smallest group was 5 shots at 1/4 MOA. Mine is the 1/11.25 Barrel

I dont see a gas block, extention and profiling justifying the difference but thats just my 2 cents.

I noticed that but the Chrome barreled rifle is selling for 2200 and the SS is going for 2.9-3k. Which is a 700 spread + cost of chrome barrel which makes it a 1k barrel.

My guess is they cant go lower than the military contract.

I spoke to LMT a few days ago about my bolt carrier chrome issue,which by the way they will be replacing for me. I asked them about this "woble" thing and this is what I was explained by one of their techs which will remain anonimous just out of respect. He stated that the guy who posted that video is a some one who thinks he is a know it all. The woble is perfectly normal with the stock trigger, it allows the end user to have more options for customizing. He said it effects nothing, he said they even offered the guy who made the video a chance to return his lower but never did so. Just goes to show you cant go by what you read on these boards all the time.

By the way, great customer service from LMT, they even gave me a free return label so I can send my carrier for replacement.

I was told by an engineer at LMT the holes are NOT supposed to be oversize! They even gave me an RMA to fix it and ship it in.

So who is correct?

It is my rifle, it is currently at LMT.

I have never seen that much slop in a lower before. If that is what LMT considered normal, then I will be getting rid of my MWS.

I didn't try any other trigger pins, or even remove my FCG. However someone else did:

If a Geissele oversized trigger pin is loose, there is defiantly a problem. Someone here suggested using a KNS trigger pin set. My response to that is, "Why should I pay to fix the manufacturers error?"

I called LMT on the "issue" too(if you can really call it an issue) and had a lengthy conversation with them. They were very polite and seemed extremely willing and ready to fix the problem if there is one...they did not have any of the "problem" rifles in their possession so they couldn't really say much at the time. I'm interested to see what the problem is, if any, and how they resolve it.

As a whole, I still think the LMT MWS is an extremely viable platform with a good group of guys behind them. Mine keeps chugging along putting a slew of diffent loads into little tiny groups. My LWRC REPR didn't chug at all.....

I wasn't too impressed with my first response from LMT. However since then communication has been great.

I think the MWS is a great platform offering a good deal of performance for the price. Here's hoping that no one else has the issues I have had. There is a bitter history between LMT and me as I have had issues with many LMT products in the past. That is the reason and story behind my sig-line. LMT produces great products, but had poor quality control. However in the past, and currently I have had to repair to replace LMT products. I do believe that LMT will take care of this current issue.

If your going to buy a MWS, please inspect it carefully before you take possession of it. Of course, you should inspect any firearm before you buy it.

Tell me about it... I didn't even know until I looked at my credit card and saw a huge charge from LMT that was nearly two weeks old! So I called and asked wtf was going on and what had been shipped. They told me it was the rifles and I asked, well, where are they?!

At any rate, they'll be worth the wait. Funny thing is this also happened with my last shipment of Geissele triggers. I had an order that was six weeks past due, called in and they said it had been delivered weeks ago. To? Oh, Illinois. I can't help but laugh...if I didn't, I'd get pissed.

I had my barrel re-profiled by ADCO and the finished weight is 2.75lbs without flash hider on a calibrated scale. I am going to send it back to them for a new crown. I probably does not need it, but it does not look so refined at the moment. I hope they do good work on crowns like they did on the barrel. Besides, I am sending another barrel to them for some work anyway.

I'll do some accuracy testing when it gets back.
