Hello Gents,

I finally got my barreled action back from my gunsmith. Here are the specs:
Bartlein 1-7.5" twist 5R 28" length
Chambered in standard 243win
Throated for 115 DTACs

I have some RL17 powder, 105gr Berger hybrids, 115gr bn coated DTACs, and 215m primers to start with.

I'm just looking for some load specs to start with and some of your experiences with these components.

Thank you.

I have to ask, why are you using such a hot primer? You did however pick a great powder, should give you top velocities. Dont have any loads for ya, but I see 40.8grs is the max for a 100grain bullet, Id have it rechambered to the 6Creed, then youll have some velocity, lol.

I've read 215m works great with slow burning powder and 210m are hard to find of course.

Lol, I picked 243win simply because it has the best preformance, brass price, and brass availability ratio... IMO

From what i've read it's actually less filling than h4350, weight being equal.

With the speeds that most people are able to get in their 243's with H4350 and H4831SC, I don't know why you'd want to run RL-17 and deal with temp sensitivity issues through the year.

You should be able to push a 115 Dtac at +/- 3,000fps with a temp stable powder. I'm currently getting 3,018fps with 44gr of H4831SC (115 Dtac) from a 26" barrel.
