Got it, i looked back at the email. , you are correct. Looks like you posted a comment that a mod interpreted as a wtb ad (you need a paid membership for px exchange) And the mod changed your post as a warning.

Where did you hear this? This is the first I've heard of it.
Dang...that's disappointing. Hopefully LRI will post an update at some point.

Interesting. I talked to them on Friday and no one mentioned anything. We discussed some other parts, but no updates on the A1 mounts. That sucks if it's going to take a year, but LRI has been ridiculously busy and they're training in some new guys right now.
I couldn't wait any longer so bought two repro mounts from ICE. It's a shame as I've been following this thread since the beginning and will likely still buy some when they emerge but my project rifles have already been waiting years and I'm not getting any younger 
Me too... I'd still probably buy one or two... but my rifle will be done early October... I found a Redfield SA mount and rings on Ebay last night for $15 so I snagged it for now so I can mount my Unertl when I get the rifle back.I couldn't wait any longer so bought two repro mounts from ICE. I'd say if you heard it directly from the company then no, it's not a rumour but a statement of fact. That's why I went ahead and bought the M40A1 repro mounts from another source
What’s the scoop on the ICE mounts? They look solid on the surface? Why aren’t they more popular?
There's a thread about them from ICE on here somewhere that explains how they're made. They made a run of 10 and I got two of them. I spoke to them a week ago and they said they're open to making more if there's interest. Drop them an email, as they're geared up for it and I have to say I'm really impressed with them
Just get some Redfield 700SA bases to hold you guys over. They are correct for early and transitional m40a1's anyway and I have been using one with mine for years without issue. If you want the extra security throw on some dirty welds like the originals.

Yeah that's the ones. Took about 3 weeks from order to delivery as they need to get an Australian DoD export permit but it was painless. Prices are in Aussie Dollarydoos and shipping wasn't bad
M40 scope rings - reproduction
Just about to finish this. Going off for finishing next week. I got a hold of a set and fully digitized it and made some. As exacting and correct as I could do. They do not require small tac-welds to hold them together. They will also withstand unlimited amounts of shooting 308win / 7.62...

I was all set to get one of those, but canceled my order so I could get one from LRI instead... I guess maybe I shouldn't have done that??

i am hoping these will come soon. I did break down and buy the arms mount for the m25 project i have going.
I was just there in person last week, unfortunately for me and my hoped for project Chad was so busy he wasn’t able to get to it. My side project was behind the scope mounts and who knows what else.
I think he might have gotten a big contract for an agency of some sort that is taking up a lot of their time and resources. Place was busy.

When I talked to Chad a few months ago he said that he was shooting for early 2025. He's been absolutely slammed with work and I can't even get in touch with him these days. So, things are going slow. I really wish that I could provide you guys with more information, but I don't work there and I've done all that I can from my end (supply multiple original USMC Unertl scope mounts, verifying the specs of the replicas, etc.). I'll try calling Chad again today and see if he has any updates.
To all of you guys who have been patiently waiting for LRI to make these extremely high-quality reproduction USMC Unertl scope mounts, thank you for your patience and I'm extremely sorry that we don't have a time-frame on completing these scope mounts. I know how important high-quality reproductions of very rare parts are to this community, and I want to make these mounts happen. They will get made when LRI has some time to work on them, and I'll do my absolute best to try to stay in contact with Chad and try to help out anyway that I possibly can from my end.
Please accept my sincerest apologies for the very long delay in trying to get these scope mounts made. We want to release these repro mounts to the public just as much as you guys need them for your M40A1 clone builds! It's an honor that you guys keep this thread active and are asking for updates, that just shows how passionate this community is about cloning sniper rifles and wanting the best product that can possibly be made. LRI has an excellent reputation for extremely high-quality rifles and parts, which leads to the trust and confidence you guys put in us to make these reproduction USMC M40A1 Unertl scope mounts correctly and to exact original dimensions. These will be the best USMC Unertl scope mounts ever made, they will be better than the originals, but they'll also look exactly like the originals!
If you guys didn't care about this project, this thread would have died long ago. That alone speaks volumes to how excited you guys are with having an opportunity to acquire the perfect reproduction USMC Unertl mount for your A1 clone builds. We see this, and it's not something to be ignored or cast aside. I'm really hoping that we can move forward with this project and get you guys these perfect scope mounts that are desperately needed in this clone building community. I'm very sorry that this hasn't happened yet, and I promise to update everyone whenever I hear any information. I know the delays have been significant, but I trust Chad when he says that his shop will be caught up in the first quarter of 2025.
Again, I'm very sorry that this project hasn't gone anywhere yet, and you've all been patiently waiting for a very long time. I'll find a way to make it up to you guys, and I hope that this project will come to fruition in the near future.

Im also still interested in a couple once they are ready. I’d like to have 3 if possible for builds that have gone cold looking for mounts. Keep me in mind when they are ready please.
