This thread is in response to several questions that were posted regarding the specific measurements of the Vietnam Era USMC M700 Sniper Rifle take off stock.
This is a Gen1 stock. Please keep in mind that there is considerable wear on this almost 50 year old combat used wooden stock so there will most definately be variances between measurements of this stock and new issued ones from the mid 60's and ones owned by other individuals on this site.

Last couple including the "U.S." measurment....This was done at PWS in Quantico. All pics above and below are of the bottom rifle with the Original take off USMC Green Contract Redfield AcuRange scope.

rlm8541, Talk about accuracy and your photo quality is phenominal!! My personal thanks for your time and efforts in bringing this information to the Sniper Hide forums, for the rest of us. This level of information and detail, on the M700/M40 cannot be found, in print publication, or on the Internet, anywhere but here. Thanks again... BT
