I'm new to MagnetoSpeed (have used a CED Millenium 2 for quite a number of years). So much to love about such a little package, but I'm having an issue - my question is, do these indicate a typical phenomenon with the MS chronos, and if so, is there a well known fix? I double checked my setup a couple of times - the unit is parallel to the bore line, and doesn't appear to be too far away from the path of the bullet (barrel is approx .900" at muzzle).
Basic problem is ... about 30% of my shots read about 1000 fps low. In a group of three, I'll get two reading at something like 2650, 2675, and then the third will read 1690-1700 or so.
I have not yet tried changing the battery (MS says the battery is at 8.4v... it doesn't seem super fresh by "tongue test"), or changing the sensitivity. I'll be trying both things, of course. Just didn't know if it's a no brainer "oh, just change the battery and it'll all work" kind of deal?
