Not really. When I shot my 100 yard zero, I was about .5 mil low. I came up .5 and shot the 200 yard target. So it was an equivalent 100 yard zero, but not by design.

great new video. It showed me a few small items I am missing/remminded I need.

I do have a question for you (or anyone else who may be in my shoes) and I hope the answer isnt a long one. I just built a new .308 ar and would like to keep an accurate log for it. I also reload my ammo. What data book pages do you recommend? I have looked at the impact data books as you have shown on your past video, but the numerous options for pages they have is just mind blowing. The basic stuff I would like in the book is round count, maintenance log, work up info, ranged info (ie what my scope needs to be set at for X ranges), and a notes page.

LoneWolf, great video and great timing!

I just acquired a Kestrel 4500 a couple of days ago. I have read the manual front to back and back to front, trying to figure out the best way to program this unit to make it the most effective/accurate for Pressure and DA.
With that said, I have a couple of questions for you.

In regards to 23:15 – 24:00
-What iPhone program do you use? (to accept DA)
-Can you explain the 0ft altitude setting?
Maybe what you said is all that needs to be said and I am just over thinking it. I was in the process of setting up my meter to match a local calibrated weather station. Is this necessary or not?

John, can you go into depth on cold bore shots and tracking them? How long does it take a bolt action to cool down before the next round is considered a cold bore shot? What about when it is suppressed?

I will try to get into the myth an facts of Cold Bore shots. It's almost it's own episode.

Is there a big difference between the Lyman VLD chamfer angle vs. the Lee tool you had on this episode......and would using both on the same ammo batch be not recommended? I did this recently without realizing there was a difference.

Quick question on your tactical match gear video #26. On the Eberlestock X3 pack, what did you use to attach the shooting mat? Does the pack have built-in straps for this or did you add on a generic part. Just wondering as I am soon going to order the same pack.

Is that Whiskey 3 chassis all aluminum? How does it handle in weather? I imagine it gets cold to handle in the winter time. As well as hot in summer.

If you let it cook in the sun during the summer, it's going to get hot. Painting it a color other than black will greatly reduce the issue. The forend may be a little chilly during the winter, but gloved up it shouldn't matter. The grip and comb are composite, so they will give a little bit of temp stability. I really haven't found it to be a big problem in the winter here, but it doesn't get far below freezing for any amount of time. If you worked in the extreme cold all the time, then a skid pad may be a good addition to add a little insulation to the forend.

Whatever you've done as far as audio adjustment goes has been a big improvement, atleat for my speakers. I used to have to turn both youtube and my speakers up to 100%, but here recently it's been good to go.

I agree 100 percent on educating kids about guns. I received my hunting license when I was 8 years of age and have been hunting ever since.
Way back when the guns were left in an unlocked cabinet with ammunition very accessible. We never had any problems with guns as kids, we respected them and our parents wishes, but we also had a lot of fun hunting and shooting.
Times have changed and so have kids and society. Many kids/adults have no clue about guns or safety as did myself and all my friends in the old days.
A gun is a tool, as with all other tools if used improperly can cause severe injury.

Thanks for the excellent and timely safety message LoneWolf! Please, everyone always go over those 4 gun safety commandments whenever you take guests or youngsters shooting. And whenever anyone has contact with your firearms.

Those four commandments are redundant for good reason; when they are all followed, all the time, by everyone, they are very effective. Don't let negilgence creep in, anytime, by anybody, anywhere. Be safe.
