hey yall I'm new to the hide, first post in fact! i have a marlin 917v,with a nikon prostaff 3-9x40, great combo in my opinion. Ive done a spring swap on the trigger and i have about 300-400 rounds down the tube total, any cheap tricks or "must have" modifications/aftermarket parts suggested? i would love to hear it. thanks

If it shoots great, then there really isn't much to do. I added a Rifle Basix trigger to mine which is awesome.

I'm in the middle of selling my 917VSF right now (replaced it with a Sako Quad); the Marlin was plenty accurate for ground squirrel duty but I did the following upgrades which I was happy with for several years:
Rifle Basix trigger
DIP 20MOA scope rail
Boyd's tacticool stock that I added an Atlas front rail, flush cups, and Karsten cheek rest
Replacing the factory trigger and ditching the factory stock were the two best changes to the rifle.
