I bought a mcmillian hunters edge after seeing a friends. I thought it would work but the barrel at the end is a little to big and it sits above the barrel channel. So Should i send it back and get a htg. Just bed it. Rebarrel it. or rout it out and bed it. There is not much to rout. I wanted to make the lightest .308 i could that was threaded for a can. for my truck and long hikes/hunting around caynons on my property. Or should i just say piss on it and buy a kimber mountain or a browning titanium or 700 mountain. Thanks to all

On second thought...
Per McMillan on the hunters edge model, “The slender forend will accept up to a factory magnum barrel contour or custom barrel similar to a #3 Douglas or smaller.”

I would leave it alone and replace it with something designed for the Remington Varmint barrel your AAC has.

Sorry, but no way to get a Remington Varmint contour barrel into the slender little forearm on a Hunters Edge stock. The barrel is bigger than the forearm.
