Has anyone had them accurize gun for you? I have a 308 remingtion 700 that I am thinking about having them install a broughton barrel, tune up action, timney trigger. do they do good work, I have seen alot on their stocks.

Re: McReese precision

I have fired several of his rifles that he built (Scott Mcree) and they were tack drivers. They also get shot quite a lot as he takes them to comps, demos, etc. so I would say you could trust his work. He is a very talented fella.

Re: McReese precision

sorry about the spelling, yes it is the same guy, they recently moved their company here next door to my house, seem like great people. Got to picking his brain about making this 308 I had a tack driver. Seemed like he knows his stuff, especially after looking up on net. I was just wondering if anyone on this forum have had any work done by them or seen his guns in action. His stocks are top notch when you see them first hand.

Re: McReese precision

Shot McCree build 700 yesterday, it was a nice rifle. Accuracy was keeping up with my AW and my friends TRG-22. Fit and finish was nice and I found the chassis to be comfortable.

Re: McReese precision

I would like to add, after thinking about it, that there was one thing I didn't like about the rifle- the chassis wasn't inletted quite right and the AICS mag had to be fiddled with to get it in, and required a reasonable pull to get it out.

Re: McReese precision

I don't have a rifle built by him but he does build match rifles for competitions and stuff. I have to say the same thing as the guy above, if he lived next to me, I would be broke, divorced and proabably without a house.

Re: McReese precision

As a general rule Scott doesn't build rifles for other folks. Something about a license or some such thing. That being said I have seen and shot several of his "demo" guns and they are absolute hammers. Having a conversation with him about tube thickness and harmonics is like opening up a text book that you can actually read and understand. If you live next door it may be worthy to hang out and learn or sweep up chips or something. He may just be willing to show you how to true and chamber a tube that you might have "on hand".

Cheers,

Doc

Re: McReese precision

yea, Ive stopped by only a couple times, he is always getting ready for shows or matches. I might have to show up with a broom one day. Your right, I have a feeling he is going to be the cause of many fights around the house hold in the near future.
