I think you’re actually stupid. The saying isn’t from the 50s it was from decades before. It’s thought to have come from W.O. Bentley you moron, and dragsters the 50s didn’t have 11,000hp. Large displacement was needed because turbo/superchargers weren’t reliable or cheap/easy to get so you got around it with displacement. When they became reliable and more plentiful they became more widely used.
You don’t really know anything you parrot what you heard at some point.

Rear steer would be a horrible idea, they have front wheel steering still they just don’t have as much angle

Why do they do that? Class rule obviously, but is it supposed to make it more of a drivers class? That’s also an oddly specific number, how the hell did they decide on that?
I know next to nothing about road racing.
It based on HP to weight. ST3 class is 10 to 1 ratio. I have tried to race ST2 which is 8 to 1 ratio. However, the best I could get the car was 9 to 1 which it was original designed for until they change the rules to have a larger gap in between classes. I have seen ST3 cars, mostly drivers, destroy ST2 cars/ drivers. I believe that was the main reason for the change. Still to this day though some ST3 drivers are faster in their ST3 cars than the ST2 drivers. I should add money can only buy a fast car. A fast driver must learn to be fast and some are natural and faster learners than others.

I have been lucky on the track. However, it's too damn expensive now for me to compete and raise a family. I hired a professional race driver to coach me and I was able to learn very quickly from him. It is amazing how you can feel the car doing what you want it to do and can catch it if you going over the edge. Fast drivers make fast cars go faster.
I won the race after this accident and scored the fastest track time in my class at NOLA raceway, lol

I was supposed to race multiple times and some BS always happened and ruined it. Bought a Sprint car and they quit racing that class locally, guy was going to build me a modified...skipped town and I worked at his shop
Tried to get into race boats same bs, wasn’t what they said, or no title. Got to have a title here even on race boats.
I gave up on the dream, sucks but it seemed like someone was trying to tell me something lol

I have a stock .28cc engine running 25% nitro at about 4hp at 34,000rpm.
I also have a stock 26cc engine running race gas at 2.9hp and 8,900rpm
Looks like nitro and Rpm beat the almost 10x displacement...

So, the Hell Cat is what? Like a 426 CI motor? But what did they do to get the power out of it? Boost and tuners!! To get the same numbers they would need some more cubic inches and the gas mileage would suck.

All of those cars are computer run and the tuners spend as much time on computers as the engine builders.

Okay, we need a horse power, tuner, turbo, nos and whatever thread.
The US Grand Prix was this past weekend. 45 mph corner into the back stretch with the top speed at the end was over 200 mph in 8th gear.
Very few of those cars drop out because of engine failure. Kinda crazy for the RPM they run.
My "daily" Kia out-runs Hellcats at the 1/8 strip. It isn't stock, but other than the performance (and my family), nobody knows. Est 450 HP but about 540 ft/lbs, right off idle. Twin-turbo V6 with an 8-speed auto that is as crisp as any dual-clutch hypercar I've ever driven. The ECU was modified by a local guy who does top-end AMG and M-cars, he wanted to get into this market. Mine was one of his early experiments.
My daughter and I race Autocross, I have won my class every time and it's heavy as a pig (4200lbs or so). It's AWD and I would never buy a non-AWD performance car (this isn't my first.) It's faster than a mid-2000's Lamborghini or R8 (and I've driven them, on racetracks)..
We have other cars with more "power" in the family and regularly run them at the strip, but they are awful to drive up in the mountains. My Stinger drives like it's on rails and you have to *really* push the envelope to even get a twitch out of it. I can drift it, even with all the electronic goodies enabled. One day the exhaust broke on her Corvette so she rode with me on the course. I have video, she was yelling "oh my god" half way thru and to the end.
Pretty passionate about performance in our family, but I've never felt the desire to own an outright monster. My ex's brother has a Mach 1 and has invested tons in performance, but it only works in a straight line. We have several other "classics" with that kind of performance, one is a stick and I'm the only one that can extract the most of it at the strip (I grew up with manuals) but other than racing in a straight line or picking up my daughter when she was in middle school, it's not a fun car to drive. Sounds great..

I get ~27mpg on the highway. Best 0-60 I've recorded (I have pro recording equipment) is 3.7.
You can find plenty of videos but mostly of stock ones, which are good for about 167mph. I've had mine to 176 and it was a long way from done, but I was coming up on an intersection and that was enough for me. Go to jail, directly to jail, do not pass Go. It's estimated good for 190 - it's one slippery beast.
