LONG ago, my brother (long ago killed in a car wreck) and I were returning home late at night after a long hard week of Elk hunting on the North Fork of the Clearwater River. It had started raining and was just miserable. I had an FJ40, the back was pretty full of gear and we had meat strapped to the top. We come across a hitch hiker on highway 12 and agreed to stop, it was so fucking miserable outside.
I stop. Brother gets out, leans the passenger seat forward and the guy starts to get in the back. Brother says, "No, I'm getting back there. Hand me your pack." Pack goes in, brother climbs in. Guy gets in. Brother cocks his lever action 30-30. The guy looks scared. I say, "Don't want no trouble? Don't start no trouble." Brother chimes in, "We will drop you off in downtown Lewiston."
That guy had trouble talking so I asked him if he'd rather wait for another ride.
"No. I think you guys will be ok."
My brother says..hahaha..."Yeah, WE are definitely going to be ok."
I take off and it's maybe 30 miles on in to town. Hitchhiker dude really didn't want to chat. We stop in Lewiston, in front of the LPD, guy gets out, brother gets back in front and just started laughing his ass off. He said that we probably just avoided some problems because a guy that was not up to starting some shit should have acted better.

Bundy was active in the Seattle area then. There had also been several recent local disappearances of folks.

I don't know, I think we were just worn out and rough looking enough after hunting hard for a week, guns and knives at the ready, the guy was just shook.
Sorry you lost your brother, sounds like my kind of dude.

Yeah....I'm of an age that I know my days are truly numbered and yet I am not "brave" enough to start it all off. There is a book I have and JUST started reading when our forced move began. I can't recall the title but it goes into pretty good depth on individuals the media has portrayed as vigilante or crazy.
Marvin and his dozer.
The guy that got tired of having is property infringed upon by the creek but couldn't get permits to prevent erosion.
LaVoy Finnicum...possibly the greatest American Patriot of modern times.
The author claims that each of these individuals had merely used the US Constitution as justification but the powers that be had them murdered.
I will be very relieved when my building has slowed to a maintenance pace and I can get back to doing and studying what I want instead of what I must.
It sure seems that we citizens that DO and WILL defend the Constitution are in the minority. It does look like a future that will suck while we get it all sorted back out is imminent.
The book is titled:

"The Ballad of Carl Drega: Essays on the Freedom Movement, 1994 to 2001"

Like I said, I have not read it completely. In fact, it is in storage right now with lots of other stuff.
