Australian woman captures picture of enormous 2ft earthworm driven above ground by heavy rains
An Australian woman discovered a gigantic 2ft earthworm after it was driven above ground by torrential rains.
Kelli Mace posted a photo on Facebook of her holding the huge creature with two sticks after it emerged from the earth around Tamborine Mountain, Queensland, and it was soon picked up by Australian news outlets.
The area, which is covered in rain forest, is known for the massive species of worm, known as Digaster longmani, and which can grow up to 3ft long.
Usually they remain deep underground, but heavy rain across the Gold Coast area last week has driven the creatures from their borrows.

Yes, that’s my day job. E63 AMG wagon with S package. 603hp twin turbo V8 all wheel drive. Has over 500lbs of torque by 1400rpm. Put it in race start mode and it will burn all four wheels from the line. 0-60 is something like 3.4 seconds. Car is stupid fun, yet more creature comforts than my house.
Wow a Partinavia Airtruck was used in one of the MadMax movies. Very rare bird tired to find a picture of one years ago and couldn't about the ugliest thing flying.
Interesting, didn't know. Just thought it was a pretty bold license plate for a Mercedes, but maybe not! And certainly not what I think of when I think Power Wagon.
