Re: Mud Cats anyone?

The closest I've gotten to one that size was "jug" fishing with chicken livers. 4 fish that night. Total weight was 65 pounds. I told my wife I'd be home by midnight. Everyone else got drunk and I had to drive the boat home. About an hour before sunrise I got home. If it hadn't been for the cooler of fish I'd have gotten my head handed to me.

That's just a little 21lbs flathead. We use blue gill and creek cub for bait, they seldom hit anything else. We also only fish at night.
If you were to use chicken livers, dough balls, hot dogs, or anything of that nature you would be fishing for Channel catfish. (Blue cats -biggest. Flathead -2nd. Channel cat -last.)

If you like catching carp (fun fighting fish) take three slices of white bread with cheese in between two of the slices, then add 1 tsp of vanilla to the mix. Mash it up with your hands until you have a "dough ball" have fun catching 40lb carp.
